Day: 30. May 2009

Surprise! (Part 2) - May 30, 2009 by hypnotist

We left off with a missing child and a scared family…

Lucy slowy opened her sea blue eyes.   “Where am I?” she yelled. “Careful. You’ll wake up Izzy, our cat. And she scratches hard,” whispered a blonde haired girl, bending over Lucy in curiosity. “Who- who- who are you?” Lucy screamed. “Quiet. I’m Katie. I live here,” the girl replied. Lucy got up and… fell back down again.”Help me out of here,” Lucy said. “Help me out of here and I won’t bother you. Where am I?” “You’re in Dream Home Dollhouse,” Kaite answered. “Come on.” Katie’s house had orange walls and clean, yellow window panes. It was as if it was so clean, it was creepy.  Katie navigated Lucy around hallways full of clean white doors and perfectly straight pictures.”This is Mom and Dad’s room. If they find out I brought you here, they’ll ground me until the end of time,” Katie warned. Meanwhile, back in Lucy’s house, relatives where panicking. Lucy’s genius cousin, Ruth, was calculating the outcomes. “Okay, so if the median of the possibilities is… but the quartiles don’t match the angles… it just doesn’t compute! The possibilities don’t match anything logical!” Ruth calculated. “She couldn’t have been far. Maybe she’s in my sister’s room. I can’t tell. I need a cup of coffee,” replied Aunt Becka.” Wait! Listen! Can you hear that?” asked Lucy’s mom. “Yeah! It sounds like voices! Coming from the dollhouse! It’s saying, ‘Help me! It’s Lucy! I’m trapped in my dollhouse…’ Lucy! The dollhouse is on the left. Let’s investigate!” Ruth announced. The same cloud filled the room. It pushed everyone away. But when it cleared, Ruth, instead, was gone.

To be continued…

Mochi The Detective - May 30, 2009 by lbelmont

Naticca is the other girl in the dorm she has neon pink hair and bright hazel eyes. She’s really short.I walked into the common room, which is far too girly in my opinion thanks to Alex and Naticca, and flopped down on the couch. I was tired from my seemingly endless classes and track practice.
I was also really hungry from track. I wonder if we have any food… I couldn’t find any so I had to dip into my stash of chocolate cookies.I ended up eating all of them. Oh, well. I’ll have to get more later. Then I needed milk because the Oreo is milk’s favorite cookie. I got up and walked to the refrigerator. America is making me fat. I’m originally from Germany I moved here when I was 10. My American words and grammar still need a little work. According to Alex a lot of work. She teases me about that much, but I don’t really mind she’s probably my best friend. I think putting up with me through the months… years has earned her the right to do that.Alex was the one… first person I met here my own age, and my first friend.
We lucked out in the way we got accepted to the same college and have the same dorm.  Her exact words were, “Co-ed, sweet.” I couldn’t help feel… chagrin, at her words. Her head is often in the sewer, gutter. She has long brown hair and matching brown eyes. She’s up to about my collarbone, which actually makes her tall. Tam is the last guy in our dorm he’s almost as tall as me, I’m the tallest.. He has black hair with one red streak. His eyes are bright green.Anyways, when I open the refrigerator, I can’t find the milk carton. Which is weird because we have a rule that if you drink the last of the milk you have to buy more. Now I’m wondering who broke the rule and didn’t but milk.
This is turning into quite a mystery. If this is the mystery I guess I’m the detective.I crouched down and started crawling toward the girl’s room. I was humming the mission impossible theme to myself.Just as I was closing in on the door someone opened it, hitting me in the face.  Ouch! Alex was then standing over me.“You ok?” She asked.“Yeah.” I blushed. How am I going to explain this? “Did you drink the last of the milk?”“No.”“Did Nat?” Nat is out nickname for Naticca.“No.”We just stood/lay there for a second.“You still want to check our room, don’t you?“That would be prudent.”“Your English is still weird.”“Yeah I know.” And with that Alex left. I couldn’t help myself, I started humming the mission impossible theme song again. Aha! There was a glass of milk on Alex’s desk. I took another step and looked deep into the glass. The milk was dry. She definitely didn’t drink this today, and I know there was milk in the fridge yesterday so it couldn’t have been Alex.
One down two to go.I looked around for Nat. She was deeply asleep on her bed. She has most of her classes at night though so she mostly sleeps in the day. There was no incriminating evidence on her half of the room. So I decided I would investigate Tam before I came back to Nat.I walked into our room like I normally would. I knew Tam wouldn’t be there because I saw him leave on my way in, so now I can investigate with out him looking over my shoulder.I looked high and low in our room and couldn’t find anything out of the ordinary. Then my eyes chanced upon a large bowl. Ok well not really that big, like a regular bowl. I looked into that to find nothing but, the remains of this morning’s CEREAL! Aha, so it was him!I waited until Tam got home to confront him. He then agreed to buy more milk.
I knew he would I just wanted to have a little fun, so I went with him. It really wasn’t a great mystery but, I bet next time my detectiveness is needed it will be a really awesome story.
