My eyes fluttered open. The sun was coming through the curtains that hadn’t been completely drawn together. I saw Sandy sleeping on the bed and I slowly climbed down from the top bunk. I pulled the curtains wide and a stream of light flooded into the small room. ”Rise and shine sleepy heads!” I said cheerfully. Grace blinked and sat up but she didn’t get out of bed. ” Good morning,” Grace said yawing. “What time is it?” Sandy asked still half asleep. I glanced at the clock. “It’s 8:23,” I replied. Sandy sighed and got out of bed.Grace looked unhappy. “I was having a wonderful dream. I was swimming with thousands of dolphins,” Grace told us. She threw back her covers and got out of bed. After we got dressed we left the room and walked toward the kitchen. “I can’t wait to see what kind of dolphin we will dive with next,” I said excitedly. “I can’t wait either,” Grace said. “Where are we anyway?” Sandy asked. “I don’t know but we can asked Ronald at breakfast,” I told her. We entered the kitchen and found my parents and a lady that we had never seen before sitting at the table drinking coffee. My mother turned around and noticed us,”Good morning, Raqshan,Grace,Sandy,”she greeted us. “Good morning,” we said in unison. “Kids, this is Lu-Ming-Sue,” my mother said gesturing at the other lady. “Hello,”said Lu-Ming-Sue. She was wearing a pink blouse and a pair of black skinny jeans. Her hair was jet black and she had black eyes. She was a very pretty lady. I guessed she was about 23 years old. We sat down at the table and Lu-Ming-Sue got up and went over to the oven. She got out 3 plates that had three pancakes and she opened the refrigerator. She got out a slice of butter and put it on the table. “I made blueberry pancakes, their my specialty!”Lu-Ming Sue said. “Thanks,”Grace said politely. “We appreciate it Lu-Ming—” Lu-Ming-Sue cut Sandy off,” Call me Lu,it’s easier,” I smiled. She really was a nice lady. Just then Ronald walked in. “I see that you are settling fine,”he said kindly smiling at Lu-Ming-Sue. He turned toward my father and asked,” Can you help me with pulling up the anchor, that job needs more than one person. Dad laughed and got up,”Sure,Ron,I’ll help.” The two men left the room.
After we ate breakfast we walked out on the deck. “Look!”Grace cried. We saw what she was pointing at. There was an island not to far away. “Ronald never told us that we were going to stop on a island,” I said thoroughly confused. “He wanted it to be a surprise,”said a voice behind us. I turned around and saw Lu. She smiled,”He told me that he was going to stop at a island near Mexico.” “Maybe we can buy some souvenirs,” Sandy suggested. “Maybe,” Lu said,”And look we’re here.” It was true. The Dolphin Diver had pulled up to one of the docks. “We are here!” I said excitedly,” Perhaps we’ll see more dolphins!” Ronald lowered the the platform and all the passengers walked down to the dock. “Welcome to the Bahamas!”Ronald exclaimed. The Bahamas had sand that looked like gold. “Why don’t we get our swim suits?” my father asked. The crew ran up to the ship. Later we had changed into our swim suits. “I’m going to swim,” I declared. I touched the water with my toe. It wasn’t too cold or it wasn’t too warm. I waded into the water and then Grace and Sandy joined me. We swam for some time when suddenly I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned and saw the most beautiful dolphin I’d ever seen. “Look,”I said nudging sandy and Grace,” I see a dolphin!” Sandy gasped and Grace said in a low whisper that I could barely hear it,”OMG.” I was equally surprised. The dolphin was so beautiful. The dolphin looked like a Bottlenose dolphin except that it was a different color. It’s back was gray but it’s belly was white. I swam toward it but just then the dolphin swam away. “Come on ,” Sandy said when we couldn’t see the dolphin any more. “Girls!”my mother called from the shore,”Are you guys going to buy any souvenirs?” We ran up on the shore. Later we were walking in and out of stores. At the end I got a globe with a Bahama dolphin in mid-leap. Grace got a stuffed dolphin and Sandy got A dolphin mood necklace. I had told mother about the dolphin I saw. “Maybe we’ll see it when we dive today,”mother suggescest.Later that day we put on our diving suit and our equitment. “I am so excited!” Sandy said in a squeecky voice. We jumped. When I surfaced I looked around and saw nothing. NOTHING. But just then I saw it. It was the dolphin! It didn’t come close but it made me happy just to look at her. Later that night we ate our Dumpling. When we were in our beds I thought,”It was a good day! But I can’t wait untill tomorow!”
By Luke D.E
William climbed up in a high tree. This was the highest tree in the neighborhood.
The tree’s branches spirled upward, like stairs in a big castle.
William looked down, and he looked up. It was a long way to the top, and a longer way to the bottom.
He decided to take another step up. Then another. He hears a crack, and decides to start heading down.
He steps back, but the branch behind him has broke, and he falls. All the way to the bottom. He hears branches snap like popcorn. He feels the Earth hit his back like a ton of bricks, and then everything goes black.
When he wakes up, something is different . There is a cloth tied around his neck and below his arm. He probably broke his arm, but who would have put the cloth on him?
His parents both worked until late at night, and he really wasn’t supposed to be outside when they were gone.
Then he noticed something really strange. He never saw the cast. He only felt it. He tried to look down at it, but he couldn’t. Everything was black.
He stck his hands out in front of his face. He couldn’t see them.
Then he hears an unifamilar voice…
”Your’e probably wondering where you are right know.Aren’t ya?”
”Who are you?” damanded William.
“My name is Zicha. We’re in bible days, and uh, oh yeah I’m an angel.”
“What-?”
