The bazaar of Bagdad was bustling with people of all shapes and sizes. Bagdad’s market place was the most crowded place in all of Bagdad. Blacksmiths, fruit sellers, jewelers, and more were selling their goods to people that were passing. Zuhrah was watching all the comision from an abandoned house. She had a huge window the size of a elephant. She sat down and looked at the piece of bread she had snatched from the baker. She picked one up and was about to eat when she caught sight of something slip behind the moth eaten curtains. Zuhrah put down the piece of bread and slowly pulled the curtain aside. There cowering in a corner was a small tiger cub the size of a few month old kitten. She slowly reached forward and the tiger limped away. She saw the kitten was staying off it’s left paw. She looked back at the bread. I took off a small piece and held it out to the tiger. It crept to the bread and then the bread was gone.Zuhrah picked the tiger up and told it in a soothing tone,”Shh.. Don’t worry. I’ll take care of you. You won’t be alone any more. And the tiger never left Zuhrah.

Suha put her paw on the fruit sellers stall. “Get out of here!”the fruit seller said to the medium size tiger,”Get’ before I skin you alive, you thieving tiger!” While the man tried to get the tiger away Zuhrah popped up behind him and grabbed a smaller watermelon. She sneaked up to the abandoned house. Zahra seeing her mistress leave successfully she left the fruit seller and made her way to the abandoned house, too. “Mmmm..,”Zuhrah moaned as she and Suha ate their stolen melon. After finishing Zuhrah got up an climbed down from the window and looked around the bazar, waiting for Suha to join her. As the tiger came to her a booming voice announced,”Make way! Make Way for the king of Bagdad!” A huge elephant came parading through the path the people had made for the king. On top of the elephant there was a saddle and there sitting on top of the elephant was a short stubby man wearing a turban and royal robe. A huge umbrella was stuck to the saddle to prevent the sun from making the king as hot as the people in the bazaar, who were sweating and sticky from the suns harmful rays. The elephant came to a halt as the king said in a sleepy voice, “People of Bagdad! My son,Prince Ali is getting married tomorrow night! Everyone in the village near the castle is invited. Also anyone here is aloud too!”

That night Zuhrah was wondering whether she should go. “I want to go,Suha.” Suha looked as if to say,”Are you going to take me?” “Don’t worry,Suha! I’m sure they wouldn’t mind. Anyway I don’t have anything to wear to the party.” Suha dashed away. Zuhrah sighed. She looked out the window at the starry sky. The bazaar was deserted and the stalls were closed. Suha reappeared clutching a package in her mouth. She dropped it in Zuhrah lap. She opened it and gasped. Inside was a purple sari that shimmered in the moonlight. Suha meowed and seemed to say,”It is for you. You can wear that.”

The next morning Zahrah  woke early when the sun was peeking over the distant sand dunes. Zharah put on the sari and soon she and Suha were on their way to the castle.
