Day: 20. December 2009

Bestfriend - December 20, 2009 by fisher.haley

I walked into my new classroom.I could feel my face turning red with embarresesment.”Ashlynn, you can sit right here.” The teacher patted a chair with crooked legs.My seat felt cold.”Hi, I’m Courtney.I sit right beside you!” A tall thin girl stood beside me.She had short hair and bright red cheeks.”Hi, I’m Ashlynn.I’m new-you noticed that didn’t you?” I was getting nervous.”Well, kinda!” she said with a giggle.

“Class we are going to multiply fractions,” our teacher explained, she held her hands across her stomach.I could see she wanted to introduce me ,but she saw I was very shy.”Okay, can everybody take out their math books?” she said. Courtney turned her head, “Do you need help?” I nodded. She pointed into my desk.It was a green book with pictures of math signs.”cool,” I muttered to myself.

“So, can you come with me and my friends for recess?” Courtney asked me as we stepped outside.”I’m not really that busy,” I said, trying to make a smile on my face.”Okay, this is Franny,” she said, pointing to a red haired girl with freckles all over her arms.”And, Martina,” she pointed towards a girl with blonde hair and I could see she was wearing make-up.”Hello, who are you?” Matina reached to shake my hand.”Ashlynn,” I replied, shaking her hand.

My walk home was very interesting.Almost every girl in my class wanted to walk with me.It was total caos, but I actually liked it.For once in my life someone wanted to be around me.I had always been in the back, holding my hands together, not even making a sound. Now, there was no need for me to talk because all the others wanted to.”Do you want to be friends?” rang in my ears the whole time.

“I have to go!” I said, as I turned the corner.”Bye,bye, bye!” everyone yelled.”What are you doing home so late?” my mom asked.”I made friends, mom! I was hanging out with them!” I was delighted.”Ya,ya, go do the dishes.” she replied.”But, mama, it’s not even my turn,” I put on my sad look.”No, Ashlynn go do the dishes now!” she yelled. After my chore was done I ran to my room.I was sad.My mom didn’t even care-once again-about my happiness.I bet she wouldn’t even care if I stepped out my window and left.
