Danna is a girl that loves to explore in the wild wilderness. She is exactly like me,but she lives in the city.what will Danna do about the love of the woods?)

Danna was sitting in her cabbin during a terreble snow storm. As she hears the distant call of a wolf be cut of by the bang on the windows from the wind.

“Mom are we ganna leave early cuz of the storm?”asked Danna as she worriedly looked at her mom.Inside she felt her guts tighten with fear. She wispered to herself “I know were ganna leave”.She feelt a tear roll down her cheak and onto the nice worm rug.

”Sorry honey, but yes.We obveasly have no choise,”she said softly looking at me start to get watery eyes.”we already packed your bags.We leave tomarow,”she said patting my back as i sniffed in the pine sented air.”sorry,”iI heard her say as she walked to pack HER stuff.

“NOT FAIR!”Danna screamed when her mom left the room.By know she was crying fully. She was crying so bad her mom and dad came out and huged her to calm her down.”Why do we have to kleave!”she shouted pulling away from her moms grasp.

The Ghost Of Saint Lilly Scout Part5 - February 19, 2010 by Grantland
This entry is part 5 of 4 in the series The Ghost Of Saint Lilly Scout

“Well” said Holly slowly. You know my Uncle, Stan Marley? asked Holly. ”Yeah” replied Ashley with a confused expression. “Uncle Marley is the McGester County Assessor and he takes pictures of all the houses in the county”. “Where are you going with this?” said Nick. “I kind of got Uncle Stan to teach me about the designs of houses on the McGester County website, and he showed me a map-like picture of the house. So, I thought that we could use the map to help us on Halloween Night when we go there. “Why would we need a map of the mansion?” I thought we were only going to say her name in the house, test the rumor, and get the heck out!” said Ashley now kicking at the dirt on the ground.  “Oh come on, what’s the fun in that? Besides, I googled Saint Lilly Scout and found out that there is said to be a mysterious treasure in Lilly Scout’s bedroom, leading me to why I need the map”. “That’s ridiculous!” said Nick infuriated. “You were the one scared to death of going to the mansion in the first place and now you want to steal Lilly Scout’s so called “Treasure”!” Holly looked down, for she did not have strong enough words to reply.  “Nick, please, I just want to try and find the treasure and I can’t do that alone”. Nick sighed and sat down on top of the picnic table. I’ll try to help you but have you ever considered that our parents might not let us go?” said Nick breathing heavily with his eyes looking at the old brick school building. “Of course they’ll let us go because they trust us”, said Holly.  “I sure hope so” said Ashley sarcastically under her breathe. “We can do this,”said Holly in a confident tone. “Okay” Nick agrred . Well if we’re going to do this we’ll need a some  spy gear” said Ashley smiling. With the three minutes left until recess was over they got out their walkie talkies, their small web- cam computers imported from Japan and last but not least, their favorite tool, the bungee cords. They tested their gadgets and put them back into their back- packs. The school bell rang and the three friends joyfully ran back to class.

Dragon Eye: Sanaa / Part.1 - February 19, 2010 by raqshan
This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series Dragon Eye

                                                                          One

17 year old, Sanaa sat as still as a pebble. Her long black hair did not sway as usual. Her honey colored eyes fixed ahead on a doe that moved silently, a little farther away from the herd. Its ears were up to hear the slightest noise. Its muscles were tense and ready to sprint away if necessary. The forest was silent as the herd grazed. Today was the day that her best friend, Alastair, taught her how to hunt. He sat next to her, unmoving. Slowly he nodded and motioned for Sanaa to follow him. He got up and as soon as Sanaa tried to follow, a loud Crack resounded from Sanaa and Alastair’s hiding place. A searing bolt of pain shot through her ankle. The deer including the doe bounded away. Alastair turned accusingly at Sanaa and demanded,” Why did you do that!” Sanaa looked up and said in a pained voice,” I twisted my ankle.”  She slowly held onto a tree branch and pulled herself up. Limping, she went over to a good seized bolder and sat down. Alastair walked over to see what had caused Sanaa’s injury. She took off her boots and examined her ankle. It was red and swollen. She sighed and took off her pack from her back and removed a piece of cloth that her mother had given her in case of an emergency. Wrapping her ankle in the cloth she looked up at Alastair and said,” Help me go and see what made me twist me ankle.” Alastair hesitated and then grabbed her arm and pulled her up. With his help, she limped to the place where they had hidden. There Sanaa saw that her foot had been stuck in a hallow section in a tree. Out of curiosity, she peered into the hole. There half submerged in a pile of leaves, was a golden stone. Sanaa cautiously, reached for the stone. A blinding light flashed as she touched the stone. She yanked her hand back. Then grabbed the stone and pulled it out. Alastair looked at the stone with interest and then at Sanaa with questioning eyes,” What is it?” “It’s a rock,” she said,” I want to keep it,” she added, She did not know how, but it seemed important and something that should not be lost. She shrugged off her pack and shoved the stones between a small portion of fried fish wrapped in a handkerchief and a water skin. She put the pack on again and Alastair helped Sanaa walk by letting her wrap one of her arms around his neck for support. Together they walked out of the forest and found themselves in front of a valley. Ahead of them was Fridley Village. The houses were a welcome site. On the outskirts of the village, Out of one of the houses rushed a woman who had hair just like Saraa’s and was {unlike Saraa who was wearing a knee-length dress and tights}”wearing a long calico dress. The woman rushed to Saraa’s side and helped Alastair carry her to the house. “What trouble did you two get into this time?” she scolded. Sanaa told her the events that had taken place,” The doe got away though,” she concluded sadly. Her mother remained silent as they opened the door and guided her to a chair. Alastair smiled and said, “Well, I suppose I’ll go to home now.” He turned and called over his shoulder as he walked out the door, “See you at the stable’s tonight, Sanaa!” As soon as Alastair left, Sanna’s mother asked,” Can I see the stone, the one you found in the forest?”  With pained effort, for her ankle was slowly sapping away her energy, she took her pack off her shoulder and took out the stone. Its golden surface shone brightly in the room. “It is very heavy. Like there is something in it,” Sanaa said.   Sanaa’s mother‘s face contorted with growing horror, bur at what Sanaa could see not. “Throw that, that thing away!” she demanded. The venom in her mother’s voice surprised Sanaa. She nodded and when her mother was not looking, she stuffed it back into her pack. She told herself that she would throw it away in a while.

That night when her mother was sitting in her favorite chair, knitting, in front of the fire ,she limped as silently as a snake to the door but her mother’s head snapped up and her face showed her disapproval,” Off to the Dragon Stables, are you?” Sanaa nodded, but said nothing.

Rendairia was a large country; the humans were not the only creatures sharing the land. There were pixies, elves, mermaids, fairies, and werewolves, but most important, the dragons. The dragons had long ago been great enemies of Rendairia, having attack villages and cities, but that all ended about 100 years ago. Since then dragons and humans were close allies. Some dragons even gave their eggs to humans and the dragon inside the egg hatched for a person who it wanted to collaborate with. Then the human would care for the dragon until it was big enough to catch meals and fend for its self. After it grew to a maximum height, the human was taught how to ride it.

For some unknown reason Sanaa’s mother disliked dragons. All she had said about it was that she did not like them because dragons were like wild animals.

Sanaa’s mother sighed and looked at the half finished scarf in her hands and said in a low whisper,” I wish you would stop going there.” Sanaa turned and opened the door and stepped out into the dark and chilly night air. She had closed the door behind her and took a step away from her house  when a gruff voice cut into the still air,” Where do you think you’re goin?” Sanaa spun around and saw that a man was standing in front of a house next to hers. She smiled with relief when she saw that it was Mores. The man was a good friend of her mother’s. “To the Dragon stables, Mores!” Sanaa called. “Ah! I see your interest in those beasts hasn’t gone down any less,” Mores said with a chuckle. Sanaa smiled and turned toward the stables.

When Sanaa got to the stables, she saw with growing excitement that Alastair was already there. She could see a soft glow of a lantern emanated from a stall. She rushed to the door, ankle forgotten, to see what was going on. Alastair was in the stall and there curled up on the straw strewn ground was a large purple dragon. Its scales were shiny and bright.

At the sight of the creature, Sanaa smiled. Alastair looked up and saw Sanaa,” Well are you going to come in or what?” Sanaa grinned even bigger. Not being able to have her own dragon because of her mother, she cherished every moment with the fascinating beasts. She opened the door and sat next to the dragon. Suddenly one large violet eye opened. The dragon lifted its head and gazed down at Sanaa. “Hello, Sanaa,” a silky voice said. Sanaa smiled at the dragon and replied,” Hello, Vasari.” The purple dragon looked at Alastair and asked,” Are we going to show her?”  “Of course we are!” Alastair insisted. “Are you sure?” Vasari asked. “Tell me what?” Sanaa asked impatiently. “Well,” Alastair said,” Vasari can breathe fire now.” “Wow! That is great!” Sanaa cried excitedly,” Why didn’t you want to tell me, Vasari?” Vasari seemed embarrassed,” Well, I thought maybe Alastair would not want you to know just yet. That is until I have learned how to control my flame.” Sanaa smiled knowingly. Dragons took some time before they learned how to stop their flames from coming out of their nostrils.

Dragon Eye : Sanna - February 17, 2010 by raqshan
This entry is part 1 of 2 in the series Dragon Eye

                                                                 Prologue

The night was as dark as a sorcerer’s robe. It was as silent as a shade moving quietly through a tower. In the dark night, something stirred. A black cloak, a hidden face slipped through the strip of trees where the forest gave way for path. Slowly the cloaked man hid. Suddenly from above there came a deafening roar! The cloaked figure quickly looked up. There diving toward him was a red dragon. On his back was a man. The man’s hair was jet black and his eyes were as black as coal. The cloaked man grabbed a sack from a pocket of his cloak and ran farther into the brush. Running faster than any regular human being could, he dashed into a clearing. He stopped to catch his breath and his head whipped around franticly. Spotting a hallow tree truck he stuffed the sack in and covered it with leaves. He spun around as he heard the beat of dragon’s wings. He ran out of the clearing only to find the man and his dragon waiting for him. “Ah, Denorex, It’s so good to see you! Are you well?”  The man in the cloak now known as Denorex pulled back his hood to reveal his face. He had a white beard and silver hair. “Xancor,” Denorex said calmly. Xancor smiled and said,“I want to get right down to business. Frey has told me you have the dragon egg.” Denorex just shrugged. “Don’t shrug at me!” the man snarled,” Twist, has half a mind to tear you limb from limb!” Denorex turned to run but was stopped by a cry from Xancor, pointed at Denorex and shouted to Twist,” Have your fun boy and burn the bones when you’re finished!”  The pained cries of Denorex filled the night’s air.

“There is one thing you don’t understand though” said Holly. “What?” said Ashley. “I still want to go to the mansion” Holly declared. “Why in the world would you want to go to that horrid place?!” said Nick in a surprised tone. “Well just think about it guys,”The Sleuths Three” in the Saint Lilly Scout Mansion said Holly enthusiastically. “Who knows what we could discover!” “Yeah, but I still don’t want to have my soul stolen if I accidentally say her name at night” said Ashley. “If one goes down all of us go down, and I’m ready to take that risk” said Holly convincingly. “Well…. I don’t know, it seems really dangerous” said Ashley “Oh come on, it’ll be fun!” Holly said smiling with her dimples showing.  “I’m fully up to going if you are” Nick exclaimed. “Alright, alright, we can  go,” said Ashley giving up. “Yes!” screamed Holly. “I’ve already got a plan” Holly announced. The group walked down to a picnic table and Holly unfolded a crumpled piece of paper from her pocket. “What’s that?” said Ashley, curiously eyeing the paper. “This, is an entire map of the mansion” said Holly proudly. “I hope I don’t regret asking this but, how did you get a map of the mansion”? Um…, Holly paused shyly.

Girls Arent Always As Sweet As Pie - February 10, 2010 by Kenz

It was a nice winter day when 11 year old Emily Hilson was getting ready for school. She had just taken a short shower and still the shower water was cold. She had rushed to wash her hair and face, but she was unsuccessful. She was as cold as an ice-cube. It was the last straw she couldn’t take her showers last anymore! Her brother and sister Alex and Nicole always where hogging the hot shower water. Emily marched upstairs to her mother and said, ” Why do I have to take my shower last?” “You don’t have to.” Her mom replied calmly. Her mom was a 39-year-old woman who was very pretty and was really involved in her children’s lives. She also wanted to make everything perfect. Emily went back down stairs and got dressed. Nicole her sister was a 9 year-old with a room of her own. Emily sometimes wished she were an only child. Now Alex was a different story he was always making a mess. Alex always went in Emily and Nicole’s room and destroyed all of there stuff. Emily finished getting dressed and messed with her hair. She walked into the kitchen to have some cereal. When she got there she ate some Lucky Charms and a small slice of toast. Nicole and Alex where already eating there breakfast. They ate what they usually ate a bagel with cream cheese and Frosted Flakes. For some reason they thought it was good luck if they ate the same food everyday. All of the sudden Emily’s mom came down and yelled ” TIME TO GO!” The 3 children jumped on their feet and got on their backpacks. The school they went to was Harrison Hills Elementary. It was one of the best schools. As they reached the school Nicole was asking and asking if she could have a cell-phone like Emily. Every time her mom answered “NO!” Emily had a flip phone that had a pink cover. This whole time Emily felt as lucky as ever. When they got to school Emily went to her class line up. Today Emily was lucky it was only 7:55 and school starts at 8:30. She walked towards her friends Rose and Rebecca. The 3 girls had always hung out until the cheer squad started. They would play different things every day and they were happy! Then one day a few of the girls wanted to have a cheer squad. One of those girls was Rose. Rose is an athletic girl who loves to stretch and run. In PE she is one of the fastest runners in the class Emily and Rebecca where always one of the last. That was a quality that Emily loved about Rebecca she would always stay with her. Rebecca was a nice kind girl that wasn’t very flexible. Emily and Rebecca were like PB & J. Anyway The problem all started about a month ago. Tammy and Emily always would stay away from each other. Tammy was just like Rose. She was flexible and loved to run. So one day Rose and Tammy decided they would make a cheer squad. This is when the problems started. Rebecca and Emily thought this was a good opportunity to meet and hang out with friends, so they joined. Soon after 2 more girls joined. Practice stared right after lunch. The girls went to the popular tree to start practice. The tree was located on the lower field to the left side. For some reason everyone liked that tree. The squad started out good, but than Arren Hambutter (Roses worst enemy) came and stared saying how he owned the tree! So Rose made the girls do a cheer in front of him. Emily and Rebecca were so embarrassed that that they quite the squad. Rose chased after the two girls, but they said they’d quite and that was final! Rebecca and Emily know this was the beginning to a monstrous fight between the squad and them. Emily and Rebecca knew that if they went back to Tammy and Rose they would be caught up in their Scheme of showing off. Emily and Rebecca had ignored the squad until today for some reason Rose wasn’t on the playground with Tammy and the rest of the girls. Rose was usually playing with her squad and making up new cheers. Emily often found herself at night dreaming of Rose, Rebecca and her being together again, living and enjoying life together. Rose and Rebecca suddenly shove and push Emily into the girl’s bathroom. “Hey what’s the big idea?” Emily shouts. A bunch of girls are huddling near the hand dryer. The girls kept pushing the button and trying to keep warm. “Sorry!” the two girls whispered. “We need to talk.” Emily is taken into an empty stall. The girls start talking about how they miss each other. Suddenly the bell rings. “It was 8:00 a minute ago.” Emily says annoyed. “Time fly’s when your having fun.” replied Rebecca. The girls laugh in agreement while they walk outside. The girls walked into their classroom. It was Mrs. Sages 5th grade class. Mrs. Sage was a student favorite (best pick teacher). She was one of the firsts on the list. Rose was in honors and she was so lucky. When Emily or Rose tried to get in they tried their hardest, but were never picked to do so. Rose was in honors math and reading. She was so lucky! Rose went strait to her class. Tammy did the same. Well I mean she went strait to her desk. The class started out with Mrs. Sage sitting at her desk while the kids got ready for the day ahead.

Cheaters: Part One - February 9, 2010 by hypnotist

I couldn’t believe it. I stared at the board in awe. One third of the class was honest. The list of those kids was displayed on the SMARTboard. Sara Nackinglurer, Kastti Marzilez, and Ty Yeww were three random-seeming kids. They were horrible students! I felt amazed. I wasn’t on the honest list. Kastti Marzilez was smiling. It figured. Kastti loved irony, especially when it was in her favor. Ms. Irindom told all the non-honest kids to go to her office via intercom. I trudged along with good students. Something was wrong, I just knew it. When we reached Ms. Irindom’s office, she wasn’t there. No one was. The computers, the phones, the intercoms were all on. There was a note on her desk reading, “Back in a few minutes!” The note was dated, because Mrs. Irindom always dates her notes. It was dated Apr. 4, 2010. Today was April 27th! I looked at the computer screen. All that was on there was a strange code, but what Damian, the computer genious, could make out was: FATAL VIRUS FATAL VIRUS UNKNOWN VIRUS ATTACKING COMPUTER DISTRIBUTING BACKUP DISK HARDWARE INFILTRATION BACKUP DISK STOLEN… powering down…

The Ghost Of Saint Lilly Scout Part3 - February 9, 2010 by Grantland
This entry is part 3 of 4 in the series The Ghost Of Saint Lilly Scout

“Well, are we going to do it?” said nick. Holly acted as if she was choking on a nut. She didn’t reply but but nothing more was said on the topic. Luke was now positive that he had given the “Sleuths Three” their biggest challenge yet and was very happy about it. When the children arrived at school they were very quiet. The only things said were school related. Holly’s frustration kept growing inside of her. Finally in math class when Holly felt she was going to explode she screamed, “That’s it!” “I Have to go to the mansion, if I don’t Luke will forever pester me and ruin the reputation of  “The Sleuths Three!” The class was shocked. Holly, forgetting that she wax in math class had a stare down with Mrs. Lynn, who was quite irritated. At recess Ashley and Nick immediately approached Holly on the swings.  “What happened back there”? said Nick shyly. “Yeah, you seemed a little off your game”said Ashley. A silent pause followed. Then Holly slowly rose to her feet. “I guess I just was so spooked about the whole Saint Lilly Scout mansion situation, that I needed to get my anger out. “You realise that we don’t have to go to the mansion” Said Nick. “Yes we do” said Holly firmly. “Not just for the sake of our reputation, but to also prove to myself that I’m not a chicken”. “you’ll never  be a chicken”said Ashley. Luke is just trying to intimidate you. “Yeah, I bet Luke is to scared to go to the mansion himself” said Nick. The group all shared a needed laugh.

Magic will be the death of me chap 1 - February 9, 2010 by cole585
This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series Magic will be the death of me

Walking home from school I was feeling weird not like sick, but more of a nervous feeling. The thing that scared me is that I didn’t know what it was. Walking on the sidewalk wasn’t usually this bad why the hell was I so scared. It felt like someone was watching me. You know that feeling you get when you have to get something from the basement and as soon as you get what you came down for you high tale it out of there, that’s what this felt like. I quickened my pace slightly and set my course for my grand parents house. Walking past 5 acre lots with houses on each that look exactly the same, with the white picket fences, and the perfect lawns. I saw a flicker of black go past one of them. I entered my grandparents gates and turned around to see if someone was following me. There was what looked like a gang just hanging out right outside the gate. Were they there a second ago? No they couldn’t have been I just walked through the gate. The only difference between these people and a gang were that all of the dark figures were staring at me with hazy eyes. I put the key in the lock and opened the door. “Grandma where are you?” I asked anxious to tell my grandma about the weirdoes outside. “Over here hon what’s wrong?” my grandmother asked hearing how scared I really was. “There are like 7 people outside and they just keep walking the fence line like they want in are blocked out.” I said. “Oh my god Herald hurry its happening they’re here.” My grandmother yelled. There was a rumble in the other room of the house and then my grandpa was at the window. “We need to get out of here the ward won’t last long.” My grandpa said his face filled with fear. I had never seen anything make my grandpa scared in my life. Now there were 7 people who weren’t even on our property yet and he was freaking out. What was going on? And what did he mean by a ward. Was that what was keeping those weird people out? “Ok, you grab the box I’ll get the amulet.” my grandpa said, “Cole come with me.” “Grandpa what’s going on?” I asked not understanding the danger we were in.

The Ghost Of Saint Lilly Scout Part2 - February 8, 2010 by Grantland
This entry is part 2 of 4 in the series The Ghost Of Saint Lilly Scout

Holly walked to the  school bus stop at Harvey road, three blocks from her neighborhood. She waited patiently for the bus as many colored cars came passing by. Once the old, yellow bus stopped all the students glued their faces to the windows, looking at the oh so intriguing, Holly Nimble-Son. You might know by now that being a investigative “Sleuth-ER”, had it’s rewards. Including twenty four hour popularity treatments. But as always, Holly ignored the many school bus offers to sit by second graders, and the occasional begs to do her homework by third graders, and decided to sit with her “sleuths three” partners, Nick and Ashley. “So, what’s the scoop?” said Ashley, referring to their latest mission. “Well I think you’ll be very impressed to know that I caught the mailbox thief.” “Who is it?” said Nick anxiously. “It was Mr. Lookens, he was trying to steal our rental DVDs!” said Holly, almost yelling. ” It just goes to show that you can’t trust anyone.” said Ashley. “Yeah I thought he a was really nice guy, to bad” said Nick, Sighing. Then Holly stood up on her seat and yelled, “Yet another mystery has been solved!”. All the kids cheered until Luke, the school bully yelled back, “If you guys are such good Mystery solvers then your going to  have to prove it!”.  ”How shall I prove it Luke”, replied Holly sarcastically. “Well, Halloween is coming up in a few days and everyone is talking about the Saint  Lilly Scout Mansion, so how about you guys solve the mystery to whether there really is a ghost of Lilly Scout by saying her name on Halloween night.” “Are you kidding me, I don’t want to have my soul stolen!” said Ashley. Holly meant to say something like “Sure we can do it”! but couldn’t.

The Ghost Of Saint Lilly Scout Part1 - February 7, 2010 by Grantland
This entry is part 1 of 4 in the series The Ghost Of Saint Lilly Scout

“Saint Lill…”, was about the only thing a human could say when speaking of the ancient looking Saint Lilly Scout Mansion. Rumor has that if someone was to say “Saint Lilly Scout” on Halloween night the ghost of Lilly Scout herself would steal your soul and leave you to disintegrate in the mansion’s large graveyard. Of course this was only a rumor says the one person who didn’t believe it, Holly Nimble-Son. Holly was the 5th grade investigative sluether in Monarke Elementary School and she could take on the biggest challenges that came towards her. But don’t think Holly was on her own because she had the ultimate sleuthing crew. Holly had the best of the best in her squad. Ashley Monarke, the Principal’s daughter, was the team’s journalist. She wrote wrote down every detail and every clue of the  investigative mission. Holly’s other teammate, Nick Unther, was the team’s crashing dummy. He would take the bullets for any emergency, yet he didn’t do this again and again without a reward because he was granted permission by Ashley to have full access to the soda machine in the teacher’s lounge. Together, Holly, Ashley, and Nick called themselves “The Slueths Three”.

Summer Beauty - February 7, 2010 by Grantland

If you’ve ever experienced the faint moment in time where you think the world stops revolving and you are the only human living, then you most likely would at been at Beaver-dam park in the middle of the summer. My experience was when I had joined a nature explorers camp and was in the middle of a three mile hike. I was sweating bullets and my heart was pounding, but unexpectedly, I stopped.

I took the moment to stare at the breath- taking view. The trees were brightly colored with birds chirping in sweet harmony. I shuffled my feet and felt the smooth grey beneath me where tiny creatures would slither around. I walked lightly as the exhilarating breeze rustled through my hair. The wind smelt of pine trees and salt. I started to to look to the left, and then to the right. To the left I saw a beautiful river where ducks and fish swam gracefully on the surface. To the right I saw many more trees and trails aligned perfectly together. In that instant I felt peace all around.

Sadly the moment faded and I heard all the running footsteps of the other campers. Soon I would run with them. Although time has passed I still remember the small even because I belive the most beautiful things in life are the things that are right in front of us.
