Author’s note: I write stories with girl main characters all the time, it’s easy since I’m a girl, but I’m taking the challenge of writing the main character as a guy. Wish me luck!  ~Asia ♥

I stared at the board in fifth period Science class, letting Mrs. Wainhamer yammer on about the tectonic plates. Suddenly I felt something slice the back of my hand. It stung, papercut, had to be my bestfriend Charlie passing me a note.

I switched my hands position grabbing the bit of paper from him, not changing my expression or even moving my head from where it was. I waited for free study, the last five minutes of class where Wainhamer goes to the bathroom every day, to read the not.

The Note was in the form of his way of texting, god, I hate it when he writes like that.

Yo, ya seen her yet? Dat Haut new Chik?

I looked at him seriously and I wrote back.

What? You know, full well, that I can’t understand a single word of that.

He laughed at what i wrote then tossed his reponce back at me.

What I was asking you, Mr. Perfect, was whether or not you had seen the new girl, you know, that ungodly beautiful one.

I sighed. What was wrong with my generation? Constantly fussing over the opposite gender, especially the ones that they are attracted to.

No, I haven’t.

He looked at me with suprise and then wrote back in his usual formating.

Lets tak bout it @ lunch.

********************

“Okay, what was it you were telling me?” I asked Charlie at lunch.

“That.” He said nodding in the direction of what I assumed was ‘Dat haut new Chik.’ “That, my dear Danny, is Karie White. True Angel and is in my third period choir class.”

All the words he said came out in a very slow motion. All the sounds of the noisy cafeteria became muffled and, for a moment it seemed as though time had stopped. Karen White. Karen. Karen. Karen. What a perfect name. Karen. The angelic girl turned in my direction with a red face and I suddenly snapped back to reality. I turned to Charlie and stared up a fake conversation, my own face as red as a tomato.

The bell ringed, Karen got up with her tray and with fast fluid motions reached the exit door with her friends at her heels. They started talking and she started to laugh. So pure so wondrous.

What was wrong with me? My heart in my throat, I stood with Charlie and walked to the door, dropping the entire tray in the trash can instead of placing the dirty tray on the rack.

Charlie looked at me with worry, “You alright, man. You seem pale.”

I looked at him and a sudden surge of pain struck me as though I had been electrocuted. My heart sank from my throat to my stomach and My face turned green.

Charlie’s eyes got big. “Dude! You never get sick! What’s wrong?”

I started to faint. “Never…….eat……Meatloaf-tacos……..”

I was out. And not for the reason I thought. Sure the Cafeteria food was terrible. But the reason was much worse. The reason. The reason was……….

HRRRRRRUEEEECCCCCCKKKKK!!!
