Authors Note ~ “Emma and the Reseprecans” has been changed to “The Reseprecans”. Thanks! Here’s the first part!!! ~ Raqshan

I am Emma Silk. A 13 year old who lives in a small town in the upper east-side of New York. We in this town, we can NEVER leave, bacause we know a really big secret. There are people in this world who can fly, turn in wolves, make illusions and other wierd stuff. I know what you’re thinking. I’m crazy, right? Well, that’s really good. Don’t believe a word I say ’cause if you do, you’ll sound nuts to the people around you. I’m going to tell you about me. I didn’t find out that I was a Reseprecan until I was 13. Even then there were many things I had to learn.

It all happen on one fateful day in June. It was really warm and my best friend, Sandy Locks and I were strolling through the woods. Yes, woods. The Reseprecans ordered that there be at least four acres of wood in the town. Anyway, we walking, talking about next year and the latest movies and stuff like that.

“I’m going to get my hair dyed white!!” Sandy told me. Sandy really liked to do bissare things.

“That would look wiered,” I commented.

“On you maybe. Blonde hair looks good on you, but brown hair is not my thing,” Sandy shot back.

“Hey, lets, race,” I suggested,” Who ever loses has to buy the winner an ice-cream!”

“You’re on,” Sandy said.

“Ready. Set Go!” I shouted. We tore through the trees, doging trucks and low hanging branches. I was never to reach the end. We were following a path see and while I was racing, I had veered off it. I stopped running. I retraced my steps. There was no path. Only trees, trees, and more trees.

I gulped. The adults around town were always warning us about staying on the path. They said something roamed the woods. I tried to keep calm and find the path. I searched for about ten minutes before I heard a snarl. I ran. As I raced through the brush, I could hear the loud thumpping of another shape chasing me. I was running when I ran into a clearing. I was trying to choose which way to go, when a deep growl came from right behing me. Slowy, I turned. Most people would have run, but I was a little curiouse as to what this beast looked like.

There at least a foot in front of me was a the bigest wolf. It bared its fangs, but didn’t growl.

“Oh my god,” I breathed. Then, the thing spoke.

“What are you doing in these woods?” he seemed to say.

“I..um..that is..” I tried to say.

“Never mind,” he growled,” I want to know, how you can see me!”

I reclaimed my witts,” Well, let me think. I guess I’m not supposed to see a wolf the size of grizzly bear, huh?”

“No, you’re not,” he said, puzzled. Then something happened. The wolf disolved into silver light and in its place stood a boy, about my age. He had dark hair and brown eyes. He wore a dark blue-plaid button up with the sleeves rolled up. Dark skinnny jeans covered his legs.

I freaked out then. I wanted to chang into a bird and fly away from this wolf-changing boy. As soon as I thought it, my wish came true.

First a tingling krept up my spine and I felt sick. I closed my eyes. When I opened them again, I was still in the clearing, but the wolf-changing boy had grown really big. He was at least 14 feet above me. What’s more he was staring at me as if I was the one who had changed shape.

I looked down, because I didn’t want to see his face anymore. That’s when I noticed the talons. They were sharp and small. They looked like they could scoop up a fish and turn it into a fish cabab at the same time. Then I saw the feathers. They were brown and really pretty. I opened my mouth to speak, but a,” Cawww!” came out. I screamed, which sound like,” Sreaaaaaaaaaac!”

The boy seemed to snap out of his daze and imedietly scooped my up. Then he walked briskly out of the clearing.

That’s when I blacked out.

******************************************************

When I came to, I wasn’t in the clearing anymore. I lay on a bed in the corner of a large doctor’s office. It was dim and I had a hard time focusing. When everything became clear, I could see that I lay on a smal cot and I was human again. That was good. The next thing I noticed was that there was a young man sitting behing a mahogany desk. He looked about 20 years old, but his hair was white.

“Um..excuse me?” I croaked.

The man looked up from the book he was reading. He had cheerfull face and right now he was smiling,” Emma Silk, right?”

“Um..yes, sir,” i managed. My throat was ruff and sratchy. It hurt to swallow.

“Here,” he go up and walked over to me with a glass of water. He handed it to me and I took it. I sipped it and recoiled at the taste. It was cross between honey and…cream?

“W-what’s this?” I asked.

“It’s called Relecan Jucie. Only for Reseprecans,” he said.

I choked,” Only for Reseprecans? Then why did you give it to me?”

“Think, Emma. I know you can guess,” he turned and took out a small book from his desk.

I had a feeling I knew, but I didn’t want to admit it.

“I don’t know!” I cried.

The man sighed,”Okay, then, I’ll tell you. You’re a Reseprecan”
