The Peasant Princess- Author’s Note/Sorry - July 31, 2011 by bellagy419

Hi,

I recently posted two chapters of my story,  The Peasant Princess. I had intended to make the story take place in the time of the French Revolution.  I was planning on writing a third chapter, until a friend read the story and informed me that some details in the story were not historically accurate. I am going to take the time to do some research and then I will start the story over.  I’m sorry for the mistake.

- Bella :)

P.S.:  Can’t wait to start the story over! :D

I Stand Alone- Chapter 9 - July 28, 2011 by bellagy419
This entry is part 9 of 9 in the series I Stand Alone- Chapter 1

When we got back upstairs, I decided that I need to start grappling with my mother’s death.  I dug through my closet floor and found the picture I hadn’t looked at for at least a year. It was a picture of me, my mother, and father on a beach. I was about three or four when that picture was taken. I already was grappling with her death by meeting new people at the orphanage. I thought about Miranda, Faith, Eliza, and Rob. Did I really feel like I could be myself and tell them about the Mets and comic books? No.  Well, maybe Rob. I’ve gotta tell them this. I looked up from my closet.  “Guys, I’ve got to tell you something.”, I said, “I really like you guys, but I don’t think us being friends will work out. We can be on friendly terms, but you guys don’t understand me like good friends should understand each other.” There was an awkward silence for a little bit. “We didn’t expect to be best friends with you. We just figured that we should at least be friends if we’re in such close quarters. Not that we’re so cramped in here.” , Eliza said bluntly. The rooms here really weren’t that cramped. They’re four times the size of the room I used to have at my aunt’s house. Hence, they put four or five girls in one room.

And so began my quest for a best friend.

Chao Imperial~ 2 - July 27, 2011 by Tania
This entry is part 3 of 3 in the series Chao Imperial

Muddy water lapped against my side. I desperately wanted to change position, not only was I stiff but it also felt as if the pebbles beneath me were trying to chew into my skin.  But I knew that if I moved I could die. I heard the pebbles shift as the three cats emerged from the bushes.

Two of the cats were just kittens, both with smoky grey fur and blue eyes. But in front of them walked a brown tabby. Her green eyes danced with triumph, and her teeth were bared in a smile.

“You see my darlings,” She hissed, laughing “Good things come to those that persist.”

The Two kittens looked gloomily at me. “But I wanted to fight.” One of them mumbled.

“Yeah, I wanted to tear her eyes out.”

It took all my self control not to shudder.

The tabby turned to the kits “Well, after we take her back and show everyone that she’s dead, you will have a new play toy.”

“Yay!”

“Thanks mom!”

The tabby closed her mouth around the cuff of my neck. I leapt to my feet, scrabbling away from her. Conceal had told me that they would leave me alone after they saw that I was dead!

“What is this?!” The tabby hissed, crouching down, her fur bristling.

I stood there, staring at her, wide eyed and shaking.

The tabby shook her head, the smile returning “No matter.” She turned to her kits “Darlings, it seems that your wish has come true.” With that she leapt at me.

I screeched in pain and fear as she sunk her teeth into the side of my face, her claws gouging my back.

“Mom! Mom! I want a turn!”

“No, me first!”
“No me!”

With a furious yowl Conceal once again leapt to my rescue. He bowled the tabby over, and

prepared to give her a bite in the neck, but she swiped a claw against his face, blinding him. Conceal hissed, backing away. But she leapt at him, all twenty of her claws working viciously, tearing of bits of pelt and flesh. Conceal screeched in pain, his paws flailing blindly. This reminded me of today’s earlier battle, only with the roles reversed.

The tabby’s jaws closed on the muzzle of my father as she set her front paws in the center of his neck. He writhed madly, fighting her steel-like hold. Then, she began pushing her paws into his neck, as she pulled her head back, her teeth still clenched around Conceal’s muzzle. He raked his claws along her sides. A slight grimace was the only sign that she had felt it.

There was a gruesome crack, and Conceal went limp. The tabby opened her jaws and his head hit the ground. She stood over his body for a moment, panting. Then her hateful green gaze turned to me.

“And then there was only one.”

My claws slid out of my sheaths and I crouched down, my adrenaline racing. I pushed of the ground, my back legs propelling me forward. The tabby leapt at me, her kits rushing at me from the sides. I stopped, and the barreled into each other, stumbling drunkenly away. I raced past them, forcing myself to go faster. My head was filled with the pounding of my heart and rushing of my blood. A terrible pain engulfed my body, first beginning in my paws, then spreading with my blood throughout my chest and neck and head. Everything I saw was in a red haze and swam in and out of my view.

I could almost make out the tabby’s furious promise of my death, but I kept running, all of my senses focused on that one act. Eventually I collapsed, and after that everything was just a mix of pain, fear and hatred.

Evil Cats: Chapter 2- Exploring Campus - July 25, 2011 by K.t. Jensen

re lowered onto a platform similar to the one at the top of the hill. Leoli typed in a code, and the bars sank back into the shiny square.
“Off you go, young kittens.” Leoli said. “Go ahead and choose your dorms and roommates. The dorms are in the 3 towers over there.”
We stalked over to the towers. At the base of the center tower, their was a small and withered looking cat.
“Kittens,” She mewed. “I will read your personalities, and decide which tower you will be assigned to, and that will later affect your class schedules.”
We tentatively inched forward. An all black domestic shorthair was in front.
“W…..What are you going to do to me?” He mewed, nervously shaking.
“Just this.” She said, and leaned forward to lick the top of his head.
“Oh….” He sighed. “Ok then….”
“The White Tower,” She said. “Is called Alalou, for pure cats. The Black Tower is called Serpelta, for truly evil cats. And The Silver Tower is called Callistro, for the…. special cats….”
“Which one will I be in?” He asked.
She closed her eyes. “Alalou,” She told him. “For the purer cats.”
“Sweet!” He whispered.
“Now, for you, youngling.”
Star stepped forward.
“Who are you anyway?” She asked, after the old cat licked her head.
“I am Alkoa, Keeper Of The Four Towers” Alkoa said.
“But there’s only three towers.” Star told her.
“Yes, but alas, there was once four. As you know, there was Alalou, Serpelta, and Callistro. But, years ago, there was a fourth tower, called Lowsta-Cresta, for the…. Well… for the….. Oh never mind…”
But—”
“Get to your tower!”
Which—”
“Serpelta!!!”

3 of my jokes/riddles/peoms #2 - July 23, 2011 by princess123

There once was a man from Peru
Who had a lot of growing up to do,
He’d ring a doorbell,
then run like hell,
Until the owner shot him with a .22

There once was a man from kanass
Who’s nuts were made out of brass
in stormy weather
he’d clack them together
and lightning shot out of his ass
There once was a boy named Dan,
who wanted to fry in a pan.
He tried and he tried,
and eventually died,
that weird little boy named Dan.

i can hardly tell you this, but io have to tell someone. if i keep it to myself i will have nightmares about it for the rest of my life, and if there’s one thingi don’t need in my life it’s an extra portion of nightmares it all started with a stupid genie. if the genie hadn’t…

no thats not right. it actually started with me feeling sorry for myself. why was i feeling sorry for myself? because i am jiggy mcCue, the unluckyest kid in town. i’d never thought of myself as particularly lucky, but just lately luck and me had been complete strangers. i’d been haunted by a dead goose, held prisoner by a pair of evil under pants, and flushed down a computerised toilet. you have to admit these arn’t normal, everyday, run-of-the-mill things to happen to a person. but i had a pritty good idea why i was getting all this stuff trown at me while i missed everyone else.it was because of what happend at the piddle pool the night before i started school for the first time.  what diddn’t happen i should say. the piddle pool was called the piddle pool because……..

(nexxt page of c 1 will happen every friday of every week) guess wat happend next!!

The First Time I Saw A Broadway Show - July 20, 2011 by bellagy419

I’ve been living in New York my whole life and I’ve never been to a Broadway show. Every year, my school takes the fifth grade to see a show. (Naturally, we needed to pay for the tickets.) On June 16, my grade went to see Spiderman on Broadway.  We stayed after school and ate dinner at the school. At 6:00, we got ices and boarded the bus. We got to the theater at 6:45 and we weren’t allowed in until a little after 7:00. Outside, we got our tickets. When we got in to the theater, a man scanned our tickets and told us where to go. When we got to the door of the place where we were sitting, we all got playbills. We went inside and waited for what seemed like a year. Everybody buzzed with excitement. Finally, the lights dimmed and the show started.

The show went by too fast. At the end, the whole grade gave the actors a standing ovation.  At 10:30, we boarded the bus again and got cookies and water. We returned to the school at 11:30, where our parents picked us up.

Did I like seeing a Broadway show? NO! I loved it!  Would I do it again? Definitely :)

The Peasant Princess- Chapter 2 - July 18, 2011 by bellagy419

When I get upstairs, I wash and change my dress. I call one of the servants to take my dress for washing.  Then, I lie down on my bed, close the canopy that frames it, and recount my travels. I remember every single detail.

It had all started one day before a ball, when the maids were lacing up my corset. I told my mother, “Sometimes it’s dreadfully boring being a princess.  I wonder what it’s like being a commonplace peasant. After all,  if I’m going to be the queen one day, I should know how the people of the country over which I rule live.” “You were born as a princess and will live as a princess for the rest of your life. If you wonder about how the peasants live, you will eternally wonder.”, my mother replied. Then she muttered, ”My daughter, with her silly notions.”  I suppose my mother does not remember this conversation, since she asked me why I did ”this”.  After this conversation, I started making a plan.

The next morning, I  had woken up at dawn and put on my oldest, dirtiest dress. I didn’t brush my hair. The night before, after everybody was asleep, I had snuck out and put pillows outside to provide cushioning, since I had planned to jump from the window of my bed chamber so that I could sneak out without anyone seeing me.  And I had accomplished what I aimed to do.  I jumped without being seen nor heard, not including the slight thud that I made when I landed on the pillows.  I had walked the cobblestone streets for a little bit and basically followed what everybody else did.  When people stopped to buy ten pounds of blood-red meat from a gruff, silver-gray haired butcher, I  had bought ten pounds of meat. I had packed a small bag with a few sacks of gold coins, another dress, a cloth,  a small bar of soap, and a small hair brush .  I was glad I had brought so much money, since I was following everybody else and all the people were buying lots of food. Nobody had recognized me, even though I have some pretty distinct features. I have hair that my friend Georgina says is “the color of sunshine”.  Yet, my hair is usually brushed and tied up in a braid or bun, and that day, it had been unbrushed and down. I also have bright blue eyes.  But in the crowd of people, you couldn’t get such a close look at somebody that you could see what color their eyes are.

The Peasant Princess- Chapter 1 - July 17, 2011 by bellagy419

My mother looks like she is going to faint. My father stands, frozen in shock. Finally, my friend Georgina, whose father works in the palace, breaks the long silence. “You, the daughter of the king and queen of France, the princess, lived as a peasant in a dirty shed on the outskirts of Paris for a week, and sparked a country-wide search. I am shocked. You are usually not so courageous and adventurous.  It took persuasion just to get you to go to Versailles.”

“Yes, I did. I  have a few bruises and scratches to prove it.”, I say, pulling down the sleeves of my dirty, dusty dress. “Annabelle, why did you do this?”, my mother asks. I say nothing. I simply run up the steps to my bed chamber. I want to recount my travels.

Kaiser and the Dragon Destroyers - July 14, 2011 by chaoskid99

I
The Beginning
My adventure started when my mother was abducted by a shade dragon, the most powerful kind of evil dragons. My name is Kaiser Raeo. I am half elf and half human. I am one of the best swordsmen in my class. Though I do well with most kinds of swords, I am best with the twin star steel katanas my father told my mother to give me when I was thirty, also said not to sharpen them .My mother was an elf. My dad died in battle when I was twelve . I am thirty-two years old. That is fairly young to the Elf society that I live in. The town I live in is called Dragon’s Grove. I am an outcast because my father was a human. I talked to the to the town elder, he said “the Shade Dragon King’s palace was rumored to be close to the direction the dragon had flown.” “Where would that be” I said. “Past the Porcupine mountains” he huffed with regret.
I was walking along the trail out of the town, to the north where the porcupine mountains lie ahead. When my friend (girl that I liked) daeda ran up beside me kissed me on the cheek and said “whereyagoin?” I sternly voiced”to get my mother back”. “I wanna come” she whined. I said “why”. She said “to be with you”with a twinge of desperation in her voice. “orcs, golemn, frost and hill giants, thousands of goblin-kind’ll be out there you know”. “of course I know that, I just want my boyfriend to return alive”. I was shocked, the best looking girl in school,ok I’m kidding myself she is the best looking girl in the whole town just called me her boyfriend. “b bboooyfafriend”I stammered. She said “yup”. I fainted.
The first thought that ran through my mind was “that was embarrassing”. Then I noticed the three heads standing over me weren’t elf medics or clerics, they weren’t even elves, they were orcs! I yelled”ooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkksssssssssssssssss”. That wasn’t the best thing to do,because one stomped me on my chest, leaned over to my ear and whispered “there’s no one left to alarm kid, all dead except you”.RAGE RAGE RAGE! The fools hadn’t even tied my hands nor feet. Didn’t even take my weapons far away. Two hundred orcs down, six more and two frost giants. Goodbye.
After the battle, it turns out that there were survivors from the raid. Daeda, the village elder, and myself are the only survivors. The village elder says he has a son in the next town over to the east. Daeda is an orphan so, her home is the orphanage. Sadly, the orphanage was burned down so she has no home. The village elder asked her if she wanted to come with him to the town he is going to. She declined. We set off on our journey together.

II
The Mage
We had started up the mountain trail about two hours ago , when, all of a sudden, we were attacked by purple giants, something not heard of as far as I know. When they sustained a mortal wound they disappeared with purple dust in their place. We looked at a stone pillar, on top we saw a caped figure writing magic runes on top of the pillar. Daeda shot a paralysis arrow at him. When it got close, we saw a purple sphere appear around him, the arrow bounced off the sphere and disappeared. The caped figure flinched at impact. There was a tall tree close to the pillar. I climbed the tree about to jump at the caped figure when he disappeared. All the purple dust and giants disappeared with him. Then the pillar turned black and exploded.
Daeda was first to come out of her coma. When we both were awake we found ourselves in a tower. A little while later a man walked in, we both drew our hidden daggers. “whoa” he says with a surprised tone “this is how you greet the mage that saved you from deokodu”. “huh” Deada questions. “Also known as The Dimension of Death” I said. “Where ye all goin” said the man. “to find the Shade Dragon King” we said in unison. The mage immediately had a wicked smile on his face. “Would you like a mage on your side, its likely the rumors of HIM growing in power: physical and magical are true”he asked. Neither of us were sure what to say. He did have a point though. We discussed it over, then came to a conclusion “sure” we said. “Would you please tell us why you want to come though?” “I want to come because thirty-two years ago HE sent me a crystal ball that showed my dad being absorbed by HIM”the mage stated sadly. “what is your name.” “candlewick, I am known for my fire combat spells” he stated.

III
Family, Light, and Darkness

We were on our way again. Back on the trail, we again found a stone pillar with a caped figure writing runes on top. Candlewick said “uh oh, the castle is rising.” “Which one” I said. “The bad one.” Candlewick said. He chanted some words. The runes on the pillar disappeared. Candlewick said “shoot an arrow at’em”with confidence. She shot an arrow and it hit the sphere. He chanted some more and said “shoot a paralysis arrow at him now.” this time the arrow went through the sphere, hit the caped figure and he fell. I caught him.
We pulled his hood off, turns out, it was reptilian. Being controlled by a shade dragon. Mind control magic has only been perfected by two mages, the twins, both the most powerful evil mages there were. “If HE absorbed even one of them HE would be almost unstoppable, except by The Twin Sword Warrior.”Candlewick explained. “He is a double-handed swordsman, with enchanted katanas.” said Candlewick. “katanas…like these” I said scared.
Candlewick examined them and said “These are the legendary blades…which means you are The new Twin Sword Warrior. “new” I Questioned. “The legend says there was a mage and priestess of light with one named Scarub Raeo, the mage shrunk The Shade Dragon King to Raeo’s size, Raeo weakened him, and the priestess sealed the Shade Dragon King in a shrine in a castle, then the priestess sealed the castle underground, Raeo’s story was his father told his mother to give him his father’s twin star steel katanas when he turned thirty, also his mom told him not to sharpen them” Candlewick explained. “That was the exact same story that my mother told me” I stated.
“Raeo, but my last name is Raeo” I said questionably. He got a yellow orb out of his bag told me to put my fingers on it. I did, and he went and got an orange orb out of his bag, looked at it, then said “Scarub was your great great great grandfather.”

IV
History and A Fight
Then, the paralysis wore off on the reptilian creature, who was apparently being controlled again, and it pulled out his long sword and swung it at me. What it didn’t know was I had been watching it out of the corner of my eye. I dodged the swing, though, quite easily too. My katanas were out and the creature was moving in for another swing, about four paces away it stopped. It turned to dust, then re-formed as a Dracolite also known as a half-size dragon. This time instead of a longsword in its hand, there was what had to be low powered copy of a sword known as “The Dragon’s Claw”. This particular sword though, is bad news.
The Castle of Darkness is where the Shade Dragon King is sealed. If the castle rises, the Shade Dragon King will have no problem unsealing himself, and HE will have control over any that are not innately good or pure of heart.
“The Dragon’s Claw” is a very very strong sword that is soaked in draconian magic. It is almost unbreakable. The only swords that can match their power are the Twin Bright Star Katanas.

Shadows ~ Prologue - July 10, 2011 by raqshan
This entry is part 1 of 5 in the series Shadows

Chapter One:

The sky was gray and cloudy. It is usually gray and cloudy. This doesn’t mean it will rain though. It hasn’t rained nice and good for at least 4 months. The ground is dry and hard. The clouds look full of water. But they aren’t. They are a curse. A curse put on us by a dark wizard by the name of Zimara. She had been a legendary wizard, both in a good way and bad. Crown Princess of the Kingdom of Azul, one of the best wizards in her century. Turn mad when her mother died and her father re-married. His new wife had insisted her own son become next king and the King had relented. She had spoken to him but he was under the “spell” of his new wife. He would do anything that she asked.

And one day, she killed him. Of course she didn’t say she killed him. She accused a servant, but the entire kingdom new of her evil, including her son. He was appalled by her. Banished her from the kingdom, but Zimara didn’t care. She blamed him and his mother her own mother’s death and cast a curse on them.

“For as long as your bloodline rule this kingdom, every summer, dark clouds will gather, but no rain shall fall. The streams shall dry up. The lakes shall shrink, until your rule ends.”

So that is how it was. The same bloodline ruled for long, for they were good rulers, and kind and no one wanted them to go. They devised different plans and strategies to cope with this problem.

And so the same bloodline ruled on with no end to the curse…until me.
