Lego Ninjago: The golden weapons of Spinjitsu – Chapter 2 - December 31, 2011 by Bimo Raharjo
This entry is part 2 of 5 in the series Lego Ninjago

The four ninjas were pulling a cart with sensei Wu (their master) on it; the four ninjas were Kai, Cole, Zane and Jay. Kai was the red ninja the master of fire, Cole was the black ninja the master of earth and leader of all the ninjas, Zane was the white ninja the master of ice and Jay was the blue ninja the master of lightning.   Then the four ninjas and sensei Wu arrived at the caves of despair, the skeleton army were already there Cole gave orders to Zane and Jay but when he turned around to give orders to Kai, Kai was already near the skeleton tent. So Cole and the other two ninjas followed Kai and attacked the skeleton guards and went inside the cave.

When they saw a glimpse of gold they followed it until they found the Scythe of Quakes but then a loud rumbling was heard, it was the earth dragon, it has been awaken because the ninjas took the scythe “but what if there’s a dragon in here” asked Kai “but there’s no dragons here is there?” asked Cole, then Cole turned around and saw the earth dragon “aahh! Dragon, run away!” but as Cole panicked, a whole army of skeletons were there “attack!” ordered Samukai as he pointed his two daggers on his left arm at the ninjas, the skeletons charged at the ninjas, the ninjas fought them “guys!” exclaimed Jay “the skeletons are like in the training obstacles” Jay imagined that the skeleton troops are the wooden dummies on the round about training obstacle. The four ninjas were fighting the skeletons easily but there were still many skeletons around them so Kai had an idea “maybe we could use the tornado like the one that sensei Wu did!” suggested Kai and the other three ninjas agreed “ninjago!” Kai turned into a red tornado, Cole turned into a black tornado, Jay turned into a blue, tornado and Zane turned into a white tornado. The tornadoes spun through the army skeleton but there were too many so Kai got out the Scythe of quakes and slammed the sharp end of the Scythe on the cape floor and it made a big shockwave which destroyed half of the remaining skeletons “skeletons!” commanded Samukai “retreat!” after the skeletons had retreated Jay groaned “don’t worry guys I stole the map off Samukai’s tent!” the three ninjas were cheerful again. Sensei Wu was waiting for them outside the cave “who used the scythe?” asked sensei Wu, 3 of the ninjas pointed at Kai “and he didn’t work as team” added Cole so sensei Wu told Kai to work as a team and also to not use the weapons.

Five days after they’d got the Scythe of quakes, they were on a junk on an icy sea “I spy something white” chanted Jay, Cole was on the wheel and he needed to concentrate on where he was going but Jay keeps being annoying him. Meanwhile on the deck of the junk Kai and Zane were there “what’s sensei doing up there?” asked Kai “meditating?” Zane looked at sensei Wu and Zane turned to face Kai “I don’t really know what sensei is doing” answered Zane sensei Wu came down from the figure head of the junk “I’ve a power to teach for you my students” explained sensei Wu and the ninjas began listening “the torn ado of creation is formed by earth, fire, water and ice if this move was done incorrectly it will lead to disastrous consequences!” but then the junk crashed “we’re there” explained sensei Wu to the ninjas. In the place was lots of ice but the ninjas were too late, the skeletons were already there and the ice dragon was behind the skeletons! The ninjas fought the skeletons and one of the skeletons was holding the Shurikens of ice so Zane kicked it out of the skeleton’s hand and cracked four chunks of ice. The ninjas slid down the place with the chunks of ice as if they were sledges.

The next voyage of the junk was near a lighthouse shaped like nun-chucks, the light house was really tall and if the skeletons came up to climb the lighthouse the ninjas had nowhere to go. So Jay decided to use his flying invention but the improved version. So the four ninjas climbed up the lighthouse and got the Nun-chucks of lightning, the lightning dragon woke up and started to attack the four ninjas Zane looked over his shoulder and saw skeletons climbing up the lighthouse “jump!” shouted Zane, the ninjas jumped from the light house and got the wings on “finally my invention works at last!” shouted Jay happily. The ninjas went on the junk and sailed off.

The junk had finally arrived at its final destination. Sensei Wu and the ninjas got off the junk and walked towards a forest. At the forest the ninjas were having, fun Cole was banging his drum, Jay and Kai were jumping up and down and Zane was reading a book but only sensei Wu was resting “come on students lets have some rest” he said sleepily “we’ve got a big day ahead of us!” “But sensei” pleaded Kai and Jay “come have fun with us!” sensei Wu showed the ninjas his funny moves, then sensei Wu and the ninjas fell asleep eventually. Suddenly Kai heard his sister’s voice; his sister’s voice led him to the fire temple.

Would Kai dare to come into the fire temple fearlessly or tell sensei Wu and his friends that he found the fire temple? Follow on the next story…

A Chance of Hope: Chapter Four ~ Part One - December 31, 2011 by raqshan
This entry is part 8 of 9 in the series A Chance of Hope

Chapter Four:

Damon ran out of the school. Finally, he was free of the small confining classrooms and rules that kept him from doing what he loved. Carelessly, he jumped into his Zip Car and started the engine. Flying above Delta Star’s streets, Damon ran his fingers through his thick black hair. A small light appeared on his wrist. It shone from under the skin. He pressed down on the light. A small figure of a man appeared in his palm. Dr. Swengaurd.

“What’s up, Grandpa?”

“Damon,” Dr. Swengaurd smiled wrily, “I have a mission for you.”

“Really?” Damon smirked, “When don’t you?”

“Vey funny, Damon,” the doctor said, “Mr. Felix is giving me some trouble. I want you to convince him to give me my “research” money. He owes me.”

“Sure. Just send me his location and any other data you have on him and I’ll get to work.”

“You should have the data now,” Dr. Swengaurd said, “I just sent it.”

In just a few minutes Damon had flown across the busiest parts of Delta Star and arrived at 612 Fartown Street. The house was large, owned by one of the cities largest illegal buisness dealers. Felix Carson delt with drugs and money, lots of money. His lawns were spread out in front of the house and on them, Damon parked his Zip Car. He walked calmly to the large front doors and knocked.

A few seconds later, a large man opened the doors. He had slick brown hair lat was made into a spike on top of his head.

“What do you want?”

“I’m here to see Felix.” Damon stuck his hands in his pockets and smirked at the man.

“Hmm. Come in.” The man opened the door for Damon and led him into the large hallway.

“Wait here,” the man ordered, “I’ll get the Master.”

“Master?” Damon laughed to himself, “What a servant he’s got.”

He waited. While he waited he paced the hall. The ceiling was high. The floor was made entirly of marble. The lights on the walls threw a soft orange around the hall.

“Hello, Damon.” Damon slowly turned and faced Felix Carson. Felix was a middle aged man in his late thirties. He wore a black suit but his muscles underneath made the clothes buldge so much it looked as though he had stuffed pillows under his clothes.

“Hey, Felix.” Damon grabbed a paper wheight from a side table in he hall and tossed it from hand to hand. Soon it was just a flicker of color between his hands.

“Dr. Swenguard, wants his money. You know Grandpa can get a little impatient.”

“I don’t have money to give him. And I really don’t feel the need to give him any.”

“Oh?” Damon grinned, “Are you quiet sure? I’m sure this will make you reconcider.”

In an instant he was next to Felix, a small hand gun aimed at Felix’s head.

The man, laughed. He laughed so hard that he shook.

“D-do you really believe that will make me give you anything?” he roared. Wiping tears from his eyes he said, “Your efforts are wasted.”

“I don’t think so,” Damon said calmly. A sound came from his left hand. It opened completly. A small grenate popped out and his arm became as it was before.

“Now, as you can see,” Damon hefted the grenade in his hand, “This little guy’s going to explode when I tell him to. So, if you want your house here to stay intact, I suggest you give me your money. I leave happy. Grandpa is made happy. And we all live happily ever after.”

Felix glanced down at the grenade and then at the gun pointed at his head.

“Huntil,” Felix called, “Get the case of $1,oo0.”

Lego Ninjago: The golden weapons of Spinjitsu – Chapter 1 - December 31, 2011 by Bimo Raharjo
This entry is part 1 of 5 in the series Lego Ninjago

One fine morning in a blacksmith shop near a field a blacksmith called Kai and his sister called Nya were working. Suddenly in the field where the farmers were working there was a black cloud which turned day into night and vehicles with skeletons riding on it appeared suddenly. Kai  put on his samurai armour that he made and fought the skeletons. On the large vehicle was Samukai the four armed skeleton also ruler of the underworld and his two skeleton henchmen “you two” ordered Samukai “go find the map!” the two skeletons sneaked from the vehicle and went into the shop they knocked down the sign and found a map “lord Garmadon says take the girl!” ordered Samukai but then there was a voice “Ninjago!” the voice said and there was a gold tornado, the tornado hit Samukai and nearly knocked him over. The tornado turned into an old man, he had white beard, white moustache, white gii top, a straw hat and a staff made out of a bamboo tree “your spinjitsu looks rusty sensei Wu!” laughed Samukai “ Samukai!” warned sensei Wu “you won’t take anyone prisoner!” then Samukai growled  “we’ll see about that!” Samukai spat and he threw 2 of his powerful skeleton daggers from his left arms sensei Wu dogged the daggers so the daggers hit one of the stands of a water supplies Samukai laughed evilly as the water supplies was falling towards Kai, sensei Wu turned into the golden tornado again and got Kai out of the way. The water supplies fell on a whole skeleton assault troops “we have the girl and the map” Samukai told his troops “retreat!” the vehicles went away from the blacksmith shop and the sky turned light again “follow me” sensei Wu told Kai.

Sensei Wu and Kai arrived at the dojo “you call that a dojo?” asked Kai “how am I supposed to fight in a monastery?” sensei Wu opened a golden dragon’s head and pressed a red button, suddenly lots of training obstacles were rising up from the ground. Kai went on one of the obstacles “hey sensei can we do this cool move?” asked Kai as he stood on a cylinder shaped log with one leg and his other leg was lifted to the air, the cylinder sank down “huh?” asked Kai, the cylinder log bounced up again so Kai lost his balance and fell over “if you want to be a ninja you have to pass all of the obstacles before I finish my cup tea” explained sensei Wu then he sat down and filled his tea, he drank it slowly and he finished his tea “fail!” Kai stood up “what!” he moaned “I haven’t even started it yet!” sensei Wu went into his bedroom “patience!” he called from his bedroom.

It was the 60th times Kai has been visiting the monastery and he failed 59 times previously but today he decided that he would try his best. The training obstacles were right in front of him and sensei was filling his tea, Kai got his wooden sword ready he went on the wooden cylinders and didn’t fall of he went on the swinging weapons and dogged them all, then went onto a round about with wooden dummies he knocked them all down he picked up a splinter from his wooden sword and threw it to sensei Wu’s cup and the cup split open so sensei Wu went inside to get another tea and when he went out to the training courtyard Kai was nowhere to be seen “more sugar?”Kai asked sensei Wu as he was holding the sugar cup; Kai was right beside sensei Wu because he had finished the training obstacles “I will teach you spinjitsu” sensei Wu told Kai “yes!” Kai shouted so he stayed in a room in the monastery.

While brushing his teeth, Kai heard a crack then he continued brushing his teeth. Suddenly three ninjas attacked him so he climbed up the ceiling and skipped on the planks of wood the three ninjas followed him. One of the three ninjas fell down from the ceiling because he didn’t look at the gaps between the planks of wood so only two ninjas followed Kai and he crashed out of the window. Kai opened the dragon’s head and pressed the red button. The training obstacles emerged from the ground and the swinging weapon hit the second ninja, Kai kicked the first ninja but he didn’t fall down like the other two so Kai and the first ninja fought but then the ninja that fell down from the ceiling attacked Kai and it was two ninjas versus Kai and now the second ninja joined the fight so it’s three against one the door of sensei’s bedroom opened and sensei Wu came out “what’s going on?”Asked sensei Wu to the three ninjas “sorry sensei!” they all said quickly at the same time, sensei turned into the golden tornado and passed all four ninjas including Kai and the four have colours the colours were white, blue, red and black “Zane” sensei Wu said to the second ninja “you’re the white ninja master of ice.” Then sensei went to the “Jay” sensei Wu said to the ninja who fell off the ceiling “you’re the blue ninja master of lightning” next sensei Wu went to Kai “Kai” sensei Wu said to him “you’re the red ninja master of fire” finally sensei Wu came to the first ninja “Cole” he said to the first ninja “you’re the black ninja master of earth and also leader of the ninjas” Kai raised his hand “when are we going to learn the art of Spinjitsu?”Asked Kai, sensei Wu explained that the skills of Spinjitsu are already inside them.

Blue Ice Castle (Fourth In The DWC Series) - December 31, 2011 by xThreeDaysGracex

Blue Ice Castle

Okay, this is where it starts getting scary. For this story, I am just going off what facts I’ve collected about this song. Where Miku (Gem, in this story) kills everyone at the Dark Woods Circus, and then kills herself….that’s what I’ve heard. Please take the time to read and then please comment! It would mean a lot to hear your feedback before I continue with it.

I’ve skipped some lines…oh well…I struggled with this story.

Enjoy

The twins stared upwards from the dirt at the little girl who stood above him, a blade in her hands.

As time had passed in the circus, the little girl was no longer known as Gem. She was known as “Pretty Little Girl”, despite the acid burns on her face and the bruises on her body.

Roux’s face, as always, looked up with pleading and sad eyes. Detroit, continued her maddening smile.

When Gem was sane, she’d always wanted to scream at Detroit “Why?! Why do you smile, you troubled soul?!”

“But now,” Gem laughed sadly as she held the blade “I’ve learnt that you smile because you’ve lost your bearings…you’re smiling…because you’ve given up”

“You smile…because it takes the pain away”

Detroit continued smiling. And Gem could take it no longer.

“STOP SMILING!”

“The left neck is red

Her, “it’s going to flow”

The heart you eat stems and melts”

The blade rained down and sliced Roux’s neck clean off. Detroit stared up at Gem, the pretty little girl, and whispered “This circus is so fun…”

Detroit’s head shortly followed her twin, and the now headless body collapsed backwards into the dirt.

“Love and hate seperates

You said, “even after defeat””

Pretty Little Girl’s blue eyes scanned the rest of the circus. Her fellow performing friend, J, stood there, eyes widened, fresh blood dripping from his mouth from the latest meal.

He’d never admit it, but he’d always liked the twins, despite the fact Roux would scream all night and day and Detroit would smile and sing maddeningly. Perhaps his sanity was not all lost. Perhaps it was still there…perhaps….

Pretty Little Girl was walking towards him, blade in hand, deranged smile painted onto her features. He turned and he ran, as fast as the strait-jacket would allow him to. Pretty Little Girl was surprisingly fast for one so young and small. She caught him up on the stairs that led into the ring. He had nowhere to go. He was trapped.

“The body falls down the middle of the stairs after it’s broken

It sounded like broken glass

The ailment that exists gets harder to detect…

The world turned upside down and fell to the sky”

J gasped in pain as he felt Pretty Little Girl drive the blade into his stomach, then tug it back out again. He staggered backwards, and fell down the stairs. Tumbling, tumbling, the world upside down, the ground where the sky should be, the sky where the ground should be.

His own blood joined the rest of the crimson liquid, until it was one big, bloody mess. Nobody would’ve guessed he’d eaten his own, that the blood on his face wasn’t his.

“Floating (Falling) and he saw

Her “the girl with eyes the colour of the sea

Go ahead and look to the sky; it’s already cold as white ice”

He fell backwards…the last thing he saw were those blue eyes. Those once-peaceful eyes. They were filled with rage, anger, hurt and insanity.

SMACK. J felt his body hit the ground and blinding pain exploded. He lay there in agony as he heard bones crack, felt limbs twist in ways they weren’t meant to. His fragile bones shattered easily, and Pretty Little Girl smiled. She told herself…it sounded like glass breaking. She glared down at J, unsettling him even more.

He looked to the top of the circus tent, where a solitary rope was dangled. The other rope, which was tied to a metal bar, had long since snapped and fell to the ground, unfortunately injuring the little girl who used to perform on it…Lily.

He looked back. Pretty Little Girl was gone.

Pretty Little Girl knelt down beside the still body of Erin. Pretty Little Girl did not kill Erin. Erin was beaten to death in front of Pretty Little Girl. And she’d snapped. She’d killed everyone. The chairmaster, Lily, the twins, J.

There was no reason for her to be alive anymore. She lifted her left arm and looked at the tattoo that was brandished there. It was the image of a poorly drawn circus, with “DWC” written above it. It was her “pledge” to always be part of the circus. What better way to break that pledge….than chop off her own arm?

Blood spattered everywhere. And Pretty Little girl lay dead in the pool of crimson.

Alright, Blue Ice Castle was requested by a freaking lot of people…and its finished. I don’t like it as much as Dark Woods Circus and Wide Knowledge Of The Late Madness…but I guess this will do.

The “pledge”…in the song, it is a ring, and Miku chops off her arm to break the pledge….Gem was not married, so I just had her have a tattoo on her arm that showed she belonged to the circus…

Barbarians chapter 22 - December 31, 2011 by ALooseAvian
This entry is part 22 of 34 in the series Barbarians Chapter

Blaze remained completely still as we hid in a small patch of nearby trees. Not that we needed to hid anyway. The elephants we were stalking were facing away from us but I was sure they could hear us if I only coughed. I slid off of Blaze and crept my way to the elephants with 3 big rocks I found that were about the size of my hand. I wonder which elephant I should provoke and would cause the most damage when I saw the largest elephant with his battle scars and jumbo-sized tusks. He was lumbering in my direction so I had to silently move to side and wait for him to pass. As soon as he was behind me. I threw the largest rock as hard as I could at his side. This only made him stop and look around a bit. I threw the second and he started stomping and shaking his head, warning whoever was attacking him to watch out. I threw the third and he went into a frenzy. I whistled loud and clear and Blaze followed closely by Ryan on his horse came charging out of the trees to my rescue. I threw myself in the saddle before Blaze even came to a halt and ran after the angry elephant. I grabbed more rocks that were tied to the saddle and threw one more at him as hard as I could. He finally when into a charge into random directions. The other elephants followed his example and ran after him. But they were heading the wrong way. Ryan already had a plan in case this happened. He quickly lit 2 torches and we sped in front the the stampeding herd. Never do this. We threw the torches in the air so all of the elephants could see them clearly. They did. They turned and stampeded in the other direction. We made a quick a fast loop around so we wouldn’t be in the way of the elephants but we could see what was going on at the battle field. Every single person stopped fighting once they felt the ground underneath them shake and rumble. They all ran in opposite direction to where I supposed to be their camps. The elephants came and trampled all of what was left on the battle field and left as soon as they came. I knew they were probably heading to a whole new section on the savanna to be left in peace. Once everyone was gone we left our horses and walked down to the combat zone and gathered what was left of some supplies that just might be useful. We succeeded in stopping the fight and was about to make our way back up to our horses when loud shoats and yells suddenly broke out from both sides of the battlefield. Barbarians abruptly showed up at one side with arrows drawn all the way back in the bows. One the other side we the Savvies with guns. Both were pointing them at us.

“Was this part of your brilliant plan?” I muttered to Ryan without moving a muscle

“I just wanted to stop the battle. I didn’t think they would come back!”

“This is what we get for being from stubborn tribes.”

A man from each side walked down without any visible weapons. I knew the Barbarian leader had a knife hidden somewhere on him but I couldn’t say anything for the Savvy leader. They stopped about a yard away from each other and gave each other a silent stare down.

“Fellow Savvy. You and your slave Barbarian make take residence in our sanctuary.” The Savvy leader spoke to Ryan but kept his eyes fixated on the Barbarian.

“What?! It is obvious that the Barbarian is holding your man hostage as a prisoner of war!” The Barbarian shouted at him in a deep harsh voice. “See how she holds herself tall and proud while the puny boy slumps over with his weak noodle arms hanging.” At that Ryan lifted himself up a little and consciously rubbed his arms.

“Fool. This young man is in a better condition than the filthy girl standing next to him. He is in a cleaner state than her with he mud caked face. A very unhygienic person like the rest of you.” The Savvy shouted back.

“Do not confuse me with your fancy words. Why don’t we handle this like men and fight for our rights!”

“I am above you and your preposterous proposals. Admit you have stolen our technology. Even Neanderthals like you must admire our high intellect and make-life-better technology.”

“You cannot prove anything! There is no reason to take your stupid machines that only dirty our air and poison crops. It is you have taken from us. You hear one time about our valued medallion and you want it for yourself!!”

They continued to argue on about who took what and who’s slave is who’s. We stood there still conscious of the many weapons aimed at us. I guess they must’ve ran out of things to argue about because they finally tuned back to us to explain to them who we were.

“Well sirs.” Ryan started without warning. “As you two should be able to see, neither of us are bound by ropes or cuffs. So that must mean that–”

“We are in desperate needs of provisions.” I cut off Ryan and gave him a stern look to shut up. Message received.

“Chief. You are right as always.” I said to the Barbarian leader. “This boy is a prisoner of mine but I am fresh out of supplies to bind him. But he was so weak and small that there was no trouble overcoming him. We now seek food and shelter.” The leader gave a smug look to the Savvy and nodded to me.

“Your wish is granted. My men will bring you to our camp. There you will be fostered by my wife and I.” 3 bulky men separated themselves from the group and came to lead me away.

“Wait!” The Savvy leader cried. “Give us the boy. You no longer have use for him.”

“I really wish they would stop calling me a boy.” Ryan mumbled under his breath. He received a good shove to the back and a harsh warning to stay silent.

“Well he is your slave. It is your choice.”

“Let him go. He has been a burden long enough.” Ryan shot me a look and slowly walked over next to the Savvy leader, completely unsure of what I was doing. “Now I hear that a medallion was stolen?”

“You heard right. And the thief won’t admit they took it or give it back! They have not the slightest bit of honor.”

“Who knows where they could be hiding it. Under a rock near their camp? Locked away in a box inside of their camp or at the pond where the elephants were.” I stared right at Ryan when I said the last part and he understood. “Maybe we could look for it in the savanna. Any time of the day would do like midnight.” A small smile showed just barly at the edges of his lips as he stared at the ground.

“Midnight? It would be far to dark. But maybe we should look around their camps, don’t you agree?” His question was directed to the savvy leader.

“You will not come within yards of our camp or else you suffer the risk of being shot down dead!”

“That sounds like a challenge.”

“Then you obviously don’t know the difference between challenges and threats! Another one of the many things you don’t know of.”

The leaders own men had to hold him back to stop him from lashing out and the Savvy. The leader shook his head and spit at the shoes of the Savvy. Then he put his rough hand on my shoulder and steered me back. I took one more look back at Ryan as he mouthed the word goodbye.

Ghost chapter 2 - December 30, 2011 by ALooseAvian

2 Thin Ice

“You got what?!?!” My mom screamed as soon as I explained why I was at home and hour after school let out.

“I got detention. I thought the school all ready called you about it?”

“Of course they did but I didn’t want to believe it! Jenna, this is the third one this month!”

“I’m really sorry mom. But please believe me when I say that it’s not my fault.”

“Oh so it’s Bianca’s fault again isn’t it?” I nodded. “Her grip on the school is getting stronger?”

“It’s worse then ever. She finally has Mr. Bruney wrapped around her finger and Mrs. Sydney is bound to follow.”

“Mr. Bruney? Darn I was sure he would be the last to go. I guess I own your father 20 dollars.” We smiled at each other and I knew I was forgiven. She knows what goes on at my school and knows whenever I’m lying or telling the truth. My mom is just awesome like that.

I ran upstairs to my plainly decorated room and threw my bag onto the bed. My cheep computer laid on the counter and it was giving off a familiar beeping sound. I opened it and saw the icon for Skype blinking. I clicked it and after a moment of loading, Abby’s face popped up.

“Hey! How was detention?”

“Boring as usual. So what’s up?”

“I’m about to meet up with Hunter at the ice-skating rink. Wanna come?”

“It’s Friday so why not?”

“Yea! Plus I hear that a certain someone is going!”

“Will?”

“Of course! This is your chance to impress him! You know how awesome you are at skating!”

“I don’t know. Bianca will be there.”

“Bianca? You’re scared of her?”

“It’s not that I’m scared. It’s just that I don’t want her in embarrass me in front of Will.”

“Don’t you worry about a thing. I’ll handle her while you make your move.”

“Abby. I’m not sure if I even want to go to the dance with Will anymore.”

“What?! Why?”

“Because I–I think that…” I wasn’t sure if I should tell Abby about Hunter and my suspicions about him. “Never mind. I’ll meet you over there in about 30 minutes.”

I ran down stairs and told my mom about my plans and she just nodded her head. She was absorbed in her cooking. I put on the cutest cloths I could find but seeing that I hardly ever go shopping, it was a little hard. I grabbed my own skated I got for Christmas and tied the laces together so they would hang around my neck. I grabbed my bike and took an easy ride to the ice rink. It was a very small town, Rainfield. Everyone either rode a bike or walked. Very few bother taking the cars because hardly any gas is sold here. It was a tight community and everyone knew everyone. The only downside was the downtown. Over there were some bad people. Not even police like to go in those areas. But that was never a real problem. All of the fun places like the arcade, ice rink, and karaoke, and other places were located in the safe parts of town and only a short walk away from my house. Downtown could easily be avoided. In only five minutes I was tying my bake to the rack outside the iceskating rink. I wrapped my sweater tighter around me as the cold chill hit me as soon as I walked through the door. Abby and Hunter were chatting in the corner and I was about to join them when I ran into someone. It just had to be Will.

“Oh sorry.”

“It’s no problem. Hey you’re in my class aren’t you? Jenna right?” my face went hot.

“Uh, yeah. That’s me. And you’re Will. We’re in History together.” His perfect face framed by his perfect blond hair and his face just lit up whenever he smiled with his perfect teeth.

“Cool. See you on the ice. I’ll look for you when the Zamboni comes around.” He walked away and my jaw fell. He was looking for me. He wanted to see me. I walked over to Abby and Hunter.

“Oh my gosh. Were you just talking to Will? What did he say?”

“He said he wants to see me when the Zamboni comes out.”

“Oh. My. Gosh. Do you know what this means? You have to ask him now. If you don’t I swear I will ask for you.”

“No. No, I’ll ask him just not yet. Later like before we leave.” I was about to run off and find Will when Hunter grabbed my hand.

“Jenna, don’t do it.” Hunter said. “He’s a jerk. He will only embarrass you!”

“Hunter, calm down. Will wouldn’t do such a thing. He was really nice to me.”

“He will only humiliate you, Jenna! He does this all the time. He doesn’t really like you.”

“You don’t know him, Hunter. Lay off!” I stomped away from him in fury. Behind me I could hear Abby scolding him.

“Why on earth did you do that?” She said.

I walked to the desk and grabbed a pair of skates my size. Then I was just skating circles around the rink. I just couldn’t believe Hunter would do that! He knows I like Will. Why would he say such things when he doesn’t even know him. I suddenly felt a cold hand grab mine and looked back at Will who was smiling at me. He dragged me in the opposite direction and brought me to the center. I couldn’t think of anything except the fact that he was holding my hand. His friends were waiting for us in the center.

“Hey guys. This is her, Jenna.” They all looked at me and grinned.

“Whatever dude. We’re going to grab some coffee. You coming?” Will looked over at me.

“Nah. I think I’ll stay and skate a while.” I blushed.

“Whatever. Your loss.” and they skated off the ice to the snack bar.

Then it was just me and Will. We skated and chatted and I once caught sight of Hunter in the corner looking at me and Will holding hands. He did not look happy. But I completely ignored him and gripped Will’s hand even tighter. We finally came off the ice and we to get some hot chocolate at the snack bar. Will also got chili cheese fries and nachos. Bianca suddenly came up and pushed me into Will. Fries went flying and I was completely covered cheese and chili. I was to shocked to do anything which only gave Bianca a chance to pour her soda on top of my head. I looked around and all I could see were people laughing. Will was almost on the floor laughing and I knew Hunter was right. He planned this. I could feel my hands a little and took that chance to turn and punch Bianca in the nose. She screamed and fell down on the floor. I could feel my legs and I ran out of the ice rink with tears stinging my eyes.

Wide Knowledge Of The Late Madness – OC Version – 2nd in the DWC series - December 30, 2011 by xThreeDaysGracex

NEW AND IMPROVED – Alright, so if you all remember….I wrote an OC Version of Dark Woods Circus. Well, Wide Knowledge Of The Late Madness is the song that comes before it, so here it is. It describes how Detroit, Roux, J and Erin all came to being disformed.

It’s in J’s point of view. Then, it swaps to Erin’s, then back to J’s…whew!

One day in a clean white room
They bring me here…Always

J raised his head. Hmph. This room. It was quite different from the rest of the building. It was clean, very white too. His clothes were no longer dirty. They were replaced with soft white shorts and a soft white shirt.
He decided he quite liked it here. They brought him here all the time, and even though he didn’t know why he was there…he liked it.

Clean corridors, many clean rooms
Every night, one person is removed

J remembered walking down the corridors, which were equally white and clean too. He remembered seeing many clean rooms just like his own. In some of the rooms, he saw people sat in there too.
A boy and girl, both twins with brown hair. The boy sat facing the wall, tracing his fingertips across it in a lopsided figure eights. The girl sat in the corner, staring into space with thoughtful and soulful eyes.

There was another girl too. A little girl, no more than 9, sat in there too. She very often peered out of the window at the people who walked by.

(Footsteps….a chainsaw, a scream)

Erin peered through the window of her room. People were coming down the corridor! Ah! They dragged a boy along on a string. The boy had dirty blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. He looked up and saw Erin. He grinned, a cruel, sick, twisted grin.
There were stitches around his head, and blood stained his face. Teeth bared, he growled at her one last time before they hauled him forward.

Beautiful flower in vivid red bloom
One flower garden room

A lovely sphere
Comes rolling down
Pochi eats so much

Erin stood on tiptoe as she peered through the window of the door. Inside, she could see the horrific sight. Blood, staining the table in there. A pile of decaying bones and flesh and body parts. A head rolled down from the pile and landed at the bottom.
The same blonde haired boy from before crawled over on all fours, just like a dog. He picked up the head (very much like a dog would, in his mouth) and carried it over to the headless body, arm and leg that he’d already collected in the corner, just like they were toys.
He began chewing on the head fondly, mindlessly.

“Tomorrow is my turn
 I look forward to going”

Erin smiled sadly, but almost happily too. Tomorrow…it is surely her turn. She couldn’t wait!

The people came for her that night. They led her to the room, where the flowers grew in one colour. Blood red.
More flowers were added to the garden, the blonde-haired boy got another leg and ear to chew fondly upon….

J awoke to the sound of a circus tune. Blood dripped from the side of his mouth. He lifted his arm to wipe it away, but discovered he couldn’t. They were strapped to his body in a strait-jacket, grubby, patterned with red flowers.
He saw the twins. They were sewn together. The boy’s mouth was stitched into a sad frown, the girl’s mouth was stitched into a crazy smile. The girl’s soulful eyes had lost their glittering look. They were pale and frosted over. Emotionless, pained.

The little girl, no more than nine. Her leg was replaced with that of a horse, her ear replaced with the horn of a ram.

Christmas in Peril Part 2 - December 29, 2011 by pr3ttee
This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series Christmas in Peril

“DEAD?!?! How can this possibly happen? How did he die?” I spat furiously at the short man.

“I-I’m only p-passing on the n-news, M-Ma’am.”

“WHO TOLD YOU MICHAEL DIED?!?!” I was in tears as I shouted this at the scared man. I immediately felt sorry for this man.

“It w-was the c-cook who t-told me. B-but someone else t-told him he s-said.” The man stumbled. He fell to the ground in sobs, apparently afraid of another outburst from me. I immediately ran towards the open door in which the man came through. It was a beautiful day with only minor clouds. Here in Stumpleton Christmas’ were very bright and sunny. I ran down towards the kitchen that sat on my sloped lawns. I rapped on the door. The cook swung open the door in desperate haste. He looked very feverish. Trying to keep my calm I said, “Who told you Michael died? I want to know now!” It took a moment for the cook to answer, but I kept calm. Finally he spoke,

“His body is on the top of Mount Stave. He died of a surprising reason, but I swore not to tell. He quickly shoved a cup of what appeared to be orange juice in my hand. I turned out the door without another word. i walked quickly back up the slope to my manor. As I pushed open the door I found the man still crying hysterically. I said motherly, “Go down to the kitchens and get something calming.” I gently handed the man my orange juice.

“Th-Thank you. You are so k-kind. I know you are upset. F-forgive me.” He murmured. I smiled and stood up. I walked upstairs to my bedroom. I changed into a outfit fit for a journey. I packed a bag with clothes, food, and anything else I might need. I was going to Mount Stave to find my dead husband. Even if that meant dying on the way.

Thank you so much for reading this. I would be thrilled if you commented. If you would like to leave ideas for Part 3 I might include those in the next story with a special recognition for you. Thanks again!!! PLEASE COMMENT!!!!!!

Dark Woods Circus – OC Version [Vocaloid Horror] - December 29, 2011 by xThreeDaysGracex

Dark Woods Circus – OC Version

“Excuse me! Please, take this flyer!” a girl dressed in a red dress hastily shoved a flyer into my hands, and then she took off again into the dark alleys. I gazed after her. There was something creepy about her indeed. Her red dress was crimson red, the colour of blood. Her long blonde hair was dirty and matted, tangled and wild, tied back in a sad and limp ponytail with red ribbon.

I averted my gaze and looked down at the flyer she’d given me.  There was a poorly drawn circus tent on it, the ink faded and smudged.

DARK WOODS CIRCUS. WELCOME

I decide to go. I have never seen a circus before.

I simply follow the people that clutch flyers too, listlessly walking away from the main streets, towards the Dark Woods, where nobody ever ventured.
Part of me screamed to run away as fast as possible. Another part urged me forward, foot after foot. At times I even found myself running, desperate to see this circus.

That little girl again! She stood inside the tent flap, looking straight at me. As I drew closer she took my hand and smiled happily, her grey eyes outlined with black, thick black that had smeared. This didn’t deter the little soul however.
“Hello! My name is Lily. I am 8! What is your name?” she chirruped brightly as she led me further inside the circus. I gazed longingly over my shoulder as the entrance began to disappear.
“G-G-Gem….I’m, I’m 12…” I said, my teeth starting to chatter, partly from cold, and partly from sudden fright.

“Great! Come on, I want to show you something!” I saw that Lily had stopped at another tent flap, and she held it open with one hand. It was awfully dark inside, and shivers wracked my body. I began to pull away. Lily’s smile faltered.
“I-I shouldn’t be here…I really shouldn’t be here…”

“Nonsense! Come on! It will be fun!” Lily trilled, tugging my hand, surprisingly firm and commanding for such a small and weak-looking little girl. She led me first to a cage.

“See The One With Two Heads!”
DETROIT AND ROUX

I reluctantly peered inside, and saw a sight which made me retch.

Twin brother and sister, older than me, perhaps 15, joined together, their skin looking as if it had been ripped apart then sewn back up again my an unskilled madman.
The brother, Roux, was crying, and the sister, Detroit, was patting his right shoulder. They wore black outfits, patterned with white marks. Fake tears were painted on their pale faces, but real ones spurted down Roux’s cheeks, cutting through the grime and dust that was settled on their skin.

“Hush, Roux. Please do hush! We don’t want to be whipped again for making such a racket and upsetting the guests,” Detroit looked up suddenly, and gave me a smile. I noticed her eyes. Her eyes were blank, dead, emotionless.

“This circus is so fun!” she exclaimed happily. She began to repeat it, over and over, encouraging her twin to do the same. She clapped her hands, oblivious to Roux, who began to cry even more, rubbing his eyes fiercely with his only hand.

“We’re having fun! This circus is so fun! Join us at the circus! We’re having fun! This circus is so fun…!”
I reeled backwards from the cage and Lily hurried me onwards

“Here’s Erin! Sing, Erin, sing for the pretty little girl!”

A little girl, no more than nine or ten, stood up on shaking legs. She wore a faded pink dress, which was bleached different colours, as if someone had spilt acid onto it. The worse was still to come.
She raised her head with much difficulty, and I saw her face was mottled and burnt too, her eyes barely distinguishable.
She took three steps, fell down, and began to crawl towards the cage door. She reached through the bars and grabbed my skirt.
“It hurts! Oh please! It hurts!” she cried. Lily kicked her backwards, and Erin released her grip on me.

“It’s painful! It’s painful and it can’t be helped!
She said it, but still we continue this circus…”

Detroit’s voice echoed from the cage next door. Then Roux screamed suddenly, so shrill and bone-chilling I wanted to scream along with him. But I listened closely to what he’d screamed…

“FOREVER!”

Lily was entertained by this, by the twins screaming their voices raw, by the deformed diva that cried and cried and begged passers-by to help her.
“We still have one more to see…” she whispered. I tugged again on her hand.

“Please! I want to go home! Please, please!” I begged. Lily smiled at me, head tilted demurely.
“Do you not want to see the beast that eats his own? Come, I show him!”

She shoved me toward another cage, and I peered inside. I looked down at her in confusion when I saw nothing but darkness.
“I see nothing”
She picked up a stick that lay beside the cage and thrashed the metal, again and again until it was just a deafening roar in my ears.
Then, something began to shuffle out of the darkness.

It was a boy…17, 18 at the most. His skin, his hair….bleached grey. His arms were strapped to his body in a grubby strait jacket. His eyes were blank, just as Detroit’s were. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. He raised his head and grinned at me. His grin was not a friendly one. It was laced with insanity, but also with pain.
“Come….join us at the circus…” he whispered in a low growl, dark and luring.

“J! Detroit has already scared the pretty little girl, we do not need you to scare her even more…”

“I want to go home! Please, let me go home! Right now!” I broke free of Lily’s grasp and ran, towards the entrance, towards freedom….the entrance! I see it! Just a few more metres and…!

SMACK. I ran straight into somebody. I lay there, sprawled on the floor, dazed. The person I’d ran into leant down and took a lock of my hair into his hand, curled around his finger.
“Ah….what do we have here…Lil, a new addition?”
“Yes, master….Gem, she says her name is…”
“Pretty one, isn’t she?”

“Master” and Lily burst out into manic laughter. Master hauls me upwards.
“Come Gem….you’re one of us now…”

I feel pain explode in the back of my head…and when I come around again, I see I am lying in Erin’s cage, with her sat next to me. We both wear the dusty rose dresses, embellished with dirt, straw, and grime.
My hair is tied back with blue ribbons.

To the right of us, is Detroit and Roux, Detroit singing, Roux screaming. He screams four words, over and over.

“I want to die!”

To the left of us, J is curled up in his corner, muttering to himself. Now and again he will cry out…

“Get me out of here, please!”

But together, we now all sing…

“Drop by and see him!
Drop by and see him!”
“Drop by….to the Dark Woods Circus…”

—-

So, this is my OC Version of the Dark Woods Circus, an extremely catch (yet sad) song by the Vocaloids.

I do not own the song.
Please do not steal my story or my OC’s

PS: If you’re wondering why Lily and Detroit seem to think the circus is “fun” they have gone insane. Roux and J are very slowly losing their sanity…Erin is perhaps the only sane one left. And now Gem is one of the performers.

Comment after reading :)

Ghost chapter 1 and prologue - December 29, 2011 by ALooseAvian
This entry is part 1 of 9 in the series Ghost chapter

Prologue

Hi. My name is Jenna and I was 14 years old when I died. No I’m not gone but I can’t say I’m here. Honestly, I just thought would die of old age, go to heaven, and that would be that. I never expected I would stay. You know what? Never mind. I am getting ahead of myself. How about I back up a bit…

1 Detention!

The teacher droned on endlessly about the symptoms of cancer and what-not but I tuned out a long time ago. I highly doubt I would even catch a cold much less cancer. Never in my entire life have I ever been sick with anything except in the second grade when I caught a small stomach flu. The bell rang and saved everyone from a worksheet about to be passed out and I bustled out through the door along with all of the other students in my class. I packed my books away in my locker and ran down the 2 flights of stairs to the cafeteria. I patiently waited in line for my food and counted how many flakes of mold were on todays bread. My best friend ever, Abby, waved to me and I weaved my way in and out of the crowd to get to her. She had brown hair that framed her face and her bright blue eyes were what I consider one of her best features. Unlike her I have hazel eyes and bright red hair that never did what I wanted and made me stick out like a sore thumb. (which trust me, I don’t enjoy.) I didn’t dare touch the food and choose to wait till dinner like I always do. As you can obviously see, they starve us over here. Abby brings her own lunch and gave me her apple as she does everyday to stop me from complaining. We talked for 15 minutes until I finally caught sight of Hunter who finally made it out of the lunch line with a tray. He doesn’t even eat the food like me but he still waits in line. If you don’t the teachers think your sick and call your parents. Abby tossed him a bad of Doritos as soon as he sat down and Hunter didn’t even seem able to breath he had so many chips in his mouth. He had brown eyes and brown, floppy hair to match but it worked on him and made him one of the top 5 the gossip girls would die to date. He was also the only one besides Will, Bruce, and Cole that didn’t have a girl friend, which only made him more desirable to desperate girls in our class. He was crumpling the bag only minutes after he opened them. Both Hunter and I looked at Abby expectantly, eyeing her bag of Goldfish.

“Uh uh. Guys my mom thinks I’m gonna get fat with all of the food I’v been taking from the fridge. She is forcing me to bring less food to school.”

“Really? She thinks you’re getting fat? You’re as thin as a toothpick! I would be lucky to be able to fit into one of your cloths, especially that cute shirt with design on the corner.”

“Ugg. Girl talk.” Hunter groaned. I elbowed him and he grinned and me. We would always do this. I would never even dare to get all girly if it didn’t bother him.

“So are you gonna ask him to the dance?” Abby changed the subject.

“What? Who?” Hunter asked like it was his business.

“Will.” I answered and his crooked grin that was always on him face turned into a frown at the edges. “And no I’v changed my mind. I won’t ask him.”

“Why?! You obviously like him!”

“Yea but I don’t think he would go for a girl like me. He’s just too…”

“Self-absorbed? Stupid? Low-life? Obnoxious?”

“Perfect.” I said and gave give Hunter a meaningful look but he just looked away in anger. “But he wouldn’t say yes to me if I asked. He’s probably waiting for someone better.”

“You retard! He would be lucky to have you as a date! Any guy is!” Hunter said but looked like he wish he didn’t say it as soon as it came out. He had never said anything like that to me ever. He was suddenly interested in the mush of gunk on his plate. I began to wonder…

“Any-who. He should get going. Lunch is almost over.” Abby was always good at filling in awkward silences before they even happen.

We got up and dumped our food than made our way to the playground where we had 45 minutes if free time. We goof around and play on the children’s play set. Or we would sit and talk about plans over the weekend and invite each other over to see movie premiers. Then the loud ring of the bell rang through the playground and we retreated back to the prison of a school. I accidentally ran into Bianca and she toppled over onto the ground.

“Oh, sorry Bianca.”

“Watch it!” She screamed causing heads to turn.

“Relax. It was an accident.” But now that I think about how much of a witch and dictator she is to every one, I’m glad I ran into her.

“You idiot almost got my cloths dirty! Stay out of my way freak!” the way she was screaming, it was impossible for people not to crowd. But the students parted to get out of the way of a teacher coming through to investigate. Instantly Bianca collapsed on the ground and burst into tears.

“Mr. Bruney! Oh my gosh! Jenna just pushed me on the ground and started calling me names! It was horrible!” more sobs. Mr. Bruney knelt gown beside her and patted her on the back, comforting her. He looked up at me.

“Is this true?”

“No! Of course not! I ran into her on accident and she started yelling at me! Ask anyone!” Mr. Bruney looked around but no one said a word except for Hunter and Abby.

“She’s telling the truth!”

“Ahh Hunter. I see you’re still getting in the middle of things. Remember what we talked about? Don’t get involved in business that isn’t your right to be in. And as for you Jenna, detention.”

“Yes sir but,”

“No buts. That’s finally. Jenna. Detention after school. Your parents will be hearing about this.” he walked away and Bianca stood up, brushed herself off, and smiled at me.

“Well that was fun. Later loser.” she walked away and her little fleet followed close behind. Everyone else gave me sympathetic looks and walked away. It was like this everyday just with different targets. Hunter, Abby, and I were left behind to be late for class but I didn’t really care.

“I am soo sorry, Jenna. I shouldn’t have said anything. I should’ve known Mr. Bruney would give you a detention if I stepped in.” He shook his head and stared at the ground. “It’s my fault you got detention.”

“Nah. Hunter, it’s fine. It doesn’t matter. My parents are the understanding type.”

Barbarians chapter 21 - December 29, 2011 by ALooseAvian
This entry is part 21 of 34 in the series Barbarians Chapter

We heard the noise before we even saw them. Loud banging noises and gun fires rang out through the savanna and as soon as we heard the first scream, we burst in a gallop to find out what was going on. In the distance we saw large groups of Barbarians and Savvies engaging in a full blown battle. Most Barbarians hide behind foot thick wooden and metal shields that stopped most of the bullets that the Savvies shot at them. Others weren’t so lucky. Finally the Barbarians did the one thing they can do that involved thinking. Strategy. They quickly formed a turtle like fortress with the shields that protected them on all sides including the above. As one huge pod they marched toward the line of shooters, hidden behind a short wall of thick and heavy bags. They saw what was coming and knew it wasn’t good some tried to escape the Barbarians wrath but at least half of the Savvies fell down dead. I thought for sure the Barbarians won but I forgot how smart the Savvies were. They quickly thinned out around the moving fortress and I noticed the electric guns that was once pointed at me. They all shot simultaneously and the metal of the shields only helped electrocute the ones holding the shields. Many fell dead unlike me who was only stunned. Itconfused me but I was quickly brought back to reality when I noticed that Ryan was no longer next to me. I could see his figure in the distance, galloping toward the battle. I rushed out to meet him.

“What do you think your doing?!?!” I shouted at him over the racing wind.

“Everyone’s dying! It has to stop!”

“And you think you can do that? The Barbarians will kill you the second they see you!”

“Not if I have you with me!” He screamed back. I pushed Blaze in front of Ryan’s horse forcing them both to rear to a stop.

“It won’t make a difference. They will kill us both.” He looked angry.

“Your own people are dying out there and so are mine and your just telling me to give up?!?! You said it yourself. There is always hope.” He looked at me in the eyes for a long time until I finally broke down.

“Fine. You’re right. But how do you even plan on getting them to stop without killing yourself?”

“That’s the easy part. It’s getting them to agree that’s hard.”

Tell me the truth!!!! - December 28, 2011 by ALooseAvian

Save you
I saw you fall
You fell so far
And I tried to reach out to you
I screamed and shouted
But you’ve always doubted
My faith in you
I still can’t believe
But it must be true
I can’t save you

Brought me back
You rescued me
from myself
I can never repay you
I was lost and scared
But you held my hand
And brought me back to life
Your brought me back to life

Ok So I really need you people out there to give the 100% truth on this. Are they OK. They don’t even have to be that good. I want to incorperate these poems in a story. Actually they are going to be songs. Are they ok as songs too? as the chores. Leave comments and tell me what you think.

A Chance of Hope: Chapter Three ~ Part Two - December 26, 2011 by raqshan
This entry is part 7 of 9 in the series A Chance of Hope

Chapter Three:

Belle looked up. A waiter droid arrived, trays of food balanced on its metalic arms.

“Foods here,” Calib said as the trays were set on the table.

Soon, Belle, Filla, Damon, and Calib were eating the rich city food. Belle had never tasted anything like this. New tastes filled her mouth with every bite.

Once she caught Damon laughing at her, but for the most part, he behaved.

Finally, when lunch was over, Damon said, “Why don’t we drive you guys back to school? Filla can go with Calib and Belle can ride with me.”

He flashed one of his annoying grins.

Before Belle could protest, Calib said, “Sure, why not? You girls alright with that?”

Filla looked at me then nodded, “Yup. I don’t think we should walk back to school.”

Belle sighed. Oh, well, if she rode with Damon, maybe she could finally get some answers to some pressing questions.

Belle got up and said, “Well, we better get going, right?”

Filla looked at her, “What’s the sudden hurry? School doesn’t start for 15 minutes.”

“I know, I know. But, I’m new here. I don’t want to be late on my first day,” Belle hoped they would buy it. She didn’t want to have to answer a lot of questions.

“It’s alright guys,” Damon said, “I’ll just go now. You guys can meet us at school if you want.”

He grabbed Belle’s arm and pulled her towards the doors.

“Whoa, there, fella,” Belle yanked her arm out of Damon’s grasp, “Let’s keep our appendages to ourselves.”

Damon only smirked but didn’t try grabbing hold of Belle again. Instead, he opens the door and let Belle out into the street.

She looked around. Next to the resteraunt, a lot was made to park all the Zip Cars. Damon lead Belle to a bright red, sports Zip Car. It had a open cockpit and tinted black side windows. It was capible of seating five people.

“Get in,” Damon opened the passenger door, “I’ll drive you to school.”

Belle climbed into the seat, while Damon walked around to hisside. Instead of opening his door, he jumped over it and landed directly in his seat.

“I like to go with a sense of adeventure and style,” Damon explained as he backed the Zip Car out of the lot and into the sky. Quickly, he joined the bustle of vehicles in thesky traffic.

“Really?” Belle asked, “What was stylish about being in bed when you’re sick, right?”

Damon glanced at her, “What do you mean?”

“I mean, why would someone as stylish and adventurous as you want to be stuck in bed when he isn’t well. It is a mystery.”

“I wasn’t sick,” Damon said simply as if that explained everything.

“Really?? Then how did you get out of school?” Belle asked. Something about Damon’s behaviour made her suspisious. If he wasn’t sick, then was he just ditching school?

“My grandfather gave me a call,” Damon admitted, “He needed some help. I couldn’t let the old man down.”

Belle didn’t answer. Then she asked, “What did he need help with?”

Damon was silent.

“Well?” Belle looked at him. He was frowning at the cars ahead. She looked out of the Zip Cars and imedietly wished she hadn’t. She had never been this far up before. All the cars in the Past Reserve drove on the ground. The buildings weren’t small. Infact, they were so tall, that for most of the time, they were driving between them, but the people on the ground looked like they could fit into Belle’s palm. She pulled her head back into the car. She felt sky sick.

Damon must have been able to tell. He grabbed a bottle of some liquid and handed it to her.

“Here, drink it.” Damon said. He continued driving.

“What is it?” She cracked open the lid. Inside was a black sludge.

“Something to help you with sky sickness.”

“Hmm,” Belle took a hesitant sip of the drink. It felt like chuncky porige and tasted worse. Like bitter medicen.

“Ewww,” Belle spat, “That was gross.”

“Ya, but the sickness is gone, right?” Damon started lowering the car as the approuched Swan League High.

She thought for a moment, “Yes. It is.” And it was. Belle no longer felt the pressing weight of the sky on her shoulders. She also no longer felt the suspision for Damon. She smiled at him, “Thanks, Damon.”

He smiled back, almost alpologeticly, “Please, don’t mention it.”

He lowered the car and they got out. As they headed for the school, Belle wondered what she had been asking Damon about before the car sickness had set in. Funny. She coouldn’t remember.

Christmas in Peril PART 1 - December 25, 2011 by pr3ttee
This entry is part 1 of 2 in the series Christmas in Peril

As the steady beat of the large grandfather clock struck away, I thought. I thought about all the mistakes I made in decided that I wanted my only daughter slaughtered for money. I leaked a small tear. Jackie was my only hope in finding out who I am, and I let her die for money. she meant the world to me, and I let her die. I watched a man lift a large axe and… How could I have been so selfish? “NO! Mom? Please! PLEASE!” still rang in my head from the night before. I lay on the most expensive pillow I can afford because I am the queen of my town. Why would I even think about feather pillows over my own daughter? My thoughts ran in and out of my dreams all night as I slept. The next morning I would face my husband as he returned from his ever long journey in search of the escaped prisoner, Ralph.
I knew I must drag my feet out of bed in order to tell the king the faith of his over shadowed daughter. As I reached the landing a small man, no taller than a seven year old, ran towards me, a look of pure fear upon his face. “The k-king. He’s in t-trouble, Miss. he f-fell off the c-cliff,” whimpered the man, “He’s d-dead.”

CHRISTMAS EVE

I’m so excited. It’s Christmas tomorrow. I can’t wait to give my mum the present I sewed and glued with my own two hands. (I even burnt myself with a glue gun) I’ve already opened my first present because my dad had to set it up. It’s a playstation2. My younger brothers are playing on it right now. (Downstairs and I’m upstairs typing this in the office on my laptop) They are playing a game called DynastyWarriors5 on it. The oldest brother is actually quite good at it. Well, all three of them are good at it because:2 are computer geeks and 1 is a junior engineer. I’m not. I’m a bookworm that’s why I love coming on this site.

More is coming tomorrow

The Forces of Magic: Chapter 3 & Chapter 4 Starter. - December 25, 2011 by lolagon
This entry is part 3 of 3 in the series The Forces of Magic

Chapter 3 is very short, and bad in my case. I also have a starter of Chapter 4.
Chapter 3: Date with disaster

“I have to go, I simply have to!” Sophia pleaded with her mother but all she ever got in return was, “Not until you tell me why you want to date so quickly or until you tell me his name.”
Sophia thought of a name. “Micheal. His name is Micheal.” She paused for Liam had entered the room.
“Is this what I think I hear?” Liam said, laughing hard. “Sophia finally falling in love with-”
“Be quiet!” Mother shouted. Liam walked out of the room immediately, like she was the boss of the RAF. After that, Mother was saying, “Ok, you can go.” Sophia jumped around with glee, and rushed to the door.
It was a very busy restaurant. She could see ‘Mike’ sitting on a table, with some food next to him. He wasn’t hard to miss; follow the waving hand. Sophia walked over to him.
“Hi, Mike.”
“How do you know my name?” He was bewildered. Sophia had just embarrased herself.
She knew there was a Mike in school: a bully. Everyone feared, even begged for mercy at the mention of his name; mostly boys, because Mike would never tell a girl his name. Sophia got hold of it because a noy had told her.
“And I never wanted a bloody girl with me whilst I’m eating!” Mike shouted. Sophia crept out of the table and started to stride out of the restaurant> Mike saw her pushing the wooden door open and decided tp throw a plate at her.
She thought, ‘Why couldn’t I hit him with a plate instead?” A blue power shot out of her hand and directed towards the plate. The plate, in return, deflected and hit Mike on the head. Someone cried, “Magic powers!” and everyone fleed out of the restaurant frantically.
Chapter 4: Why me?

“You were supposed to catch the magic girl!” Mike’s dad was shouting. They were in a bleak area, surrounded by dusty cobwebs and a misty fog. Mike could see him- only just, for a really dim light covered the alleyway.
“I know, Mike replied. But why does it have to be… a girl?” His voice echoed in the distance.
“You will not question the authority of someone unless I give you permission to do so.” His voice turned devillish. Mike was apprehensive. This was funny considering he was the meanest bully in school.

Each Gift: Prologue and Chapter One - December 24, 2011 by Millie
This entry is part 1 of 1 in the series Each Gift

Prologue

I was sick. Laying in bed all day wasn’t my idea of a fun day, but I wasn’t exactly in any state to argue with my superiors. I had been cold since dawn and my face, according to my mother, the Queen, was, “As red as a fire breathing dragon.”

I tried going back to sleep, but the cold made shiver so violently that my teeth rattled. The bursts of cold came and went. One minute I would be as freezing as an ice cube and next my skin would heat up and I would feel as thought my brains were boiling in my hot head.

I clutched onto my lady-in-waiting’s arm as she lay cool, damp rags on my forehead. I could feel the heat die down for a moment before the chills and the pitch black set in.

Chapter One: Feeling the Heat

I rushed down stairs. My long, straight, black hair flew out behind my as I thundered down to the kitchen. I ran in through the kitchen door, my feet skidding on the tiled floor. I slid next to the stove where my mother stood, flipping pankcakes.

“Riva,” she flipped a pancake and glanced sharply at me, “You over slept. Again.”

“I know. I’m sorry, Mum.” I smiled and said, “I also am sorry about breakfast.”

“Why,” she asked, “It’s going to be served in a minute.”

“Exactly. I can’t stay a minute, Gela ia picking me up in a minute or two.” I plastered on my most apologetic smile.

“What in heavens for?” mother cried, agast, “School starts at 8:40 not 7:30.”

“I know, but…um, she’s in a hurry?” I said. It was almost a question.

Mother sighed. She looked at me, then at the pancakes.

“I’ll just feed these to Jason then,” mother said, refering to my older bother. Lucky for him, his high school didn’t start until 9:00.

BEEEEEEEEEEEP! BEEEEEEEEEEP!

Good, Lord,” mother cried above Gela’s ear splitting horn, “You better go before she causes the house to collapse.”

I grinned, gave my mother a quick peck on the cheek, grabbed my backpack from its usual spot on the floor, and ran outside.

The sun was shining. Birds were chirping their birdsong. Or they would be if Gela’s horn hadn’t been trying to make music with them.

The grass was damp under my boots. It had only been a month since the winter snow had melted and the air still had sharp, cold tang that came with the cold season.

I reached Gela’s car door and yanked it open. My best friend, Gela Mason sat in her seat, her hands inches from the horn.

“Don’t!” I cried, “I’m here, now.”

She grinned. Her golden hair was in a ponytail. She looked great as always. She wore skinny jeans and a kashmir dress sweater. A knit hat covered her head and knit boots covered her feet.

“Come on. Hop in,” Gela removed her book bag from the passenger seat and tossed into the back of her Mustang, “You’re going to make us late.”

“I’ll stop making you late once I get my drivers licence,” I promised her, “Until then…pray!”

Gela laughed, “What do you think I do at 5:30 in the morning? While I get ready I talk to God, ‘Oh, please God, let Riva be alive today. Alive and faster than her usual snail pase so we can get to school’.”

I laughed as Gela revved her engine and backed the car out of my driveway.

“Anyway,” I asked as I dropped my backpack at my feet, “What was the hurry today? Why did you call me at 5:30 to get ready?”

“We’re going to Ivy’s Diner.”

“Ivy’s Diner? Why?” I was genuenly shocked. Ivy’s Diner was a hip, expensive, and very IN resteraunt.

“We have to branch out,” Gela explained, “Plus, my…um…my parents have been fighting again.”

“Oh, Gela,” I placed a hand on her shoulder, “Is that why you wanted to leave so early?”

Gela kept her eyes on the road. Her eyes were dry and her hands were clutching the stearing wheel to tightly that her knuckles were white as paper. The car finally drove into Ivy’s Diner’s parking lot. She pulled into an empty space.

Sighing she said, “I had to get out. I couldn’t stand their constant bickering.”

I nodded. Last time I’d been to her house, I couldn’t stay through dinner because her parents were practically strangling each other across the table.

To bring me to Ivy’s Diner, the situation must have been bad. I got out of the car, and when Gela was ready, we walked into Ivy’s.

Inside, the lights were as bright as ever and the checker tiles, checker table cloths and checkered menus made me think: gingantic picnic table.

We made our way to an empty table and sat down. A waiter came to our table, a notpad in his hand.

“Can I take your order?” he asked in a nasaly voice.

“Um…we’ll have your medium sized breakfast. Two please.” I replied. Gela was silent, staring past me. When the waiter had left I waved my hand in her face. She snapped her eyes back to me.

“You know what I heard yesterday?” she asked suddenly excited.

“What?”

“There’s a new family in town. Their name’s Carson.”

“Carson? Where they living now?” I asked. Our town, River Bend, England,  was a small town with a population of about 1000. Everyone practically knew everybody else.

“In the old dump. The Castle Cottage.”

“Really?” Castle Cottage had been abandoned for as long as we all could remember. It had been a place to dare your friends into go into and frightening your children with.

“Want to check it ot after school?” Gela asked, “I know you always loved that house.”

“I do?” I asked inocently. The truth is that ever since I saw Castle Cottage I had dreamed of owning it. It reminded me of Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted castle. It was huge and had rose bushes all over it. A cobblestone path led from front lawns to the large, wooden double doors. Windows were all over the house and it even had a tower.

“All right, I do.” I admitted, “Let’s go. After school.”
