Bad People - February 16, 2012 by Imraan Dixon

Day 1, 14 February 2012, Tuesday, 07:50

I arrived at school and walked until I got to where we put our bags down. I put my bag down. Oh, I almost forgot! My name’s Imraan Dixon. I am in the 6th Grade. Americans would call this Middle School (I live in South Africa), but we call it primary school.

I had black hair, not too long, not too short, dark brown eyes, light brown skin texture and very thin limbs. The things I wanted that weren’t mine were blonde hair, blue eyes and muscles.

With the time remaining before five past eight, I ran to find my friends who were in the back part of the school. The school was divided into four parts, the play-pen for grade R, which Americans would call kindergarten. There was the foundation phase (grade 1-3) which was mostly cement and sand, the assembly court (grade 3-5) and the sports field (grade 5-6).

They were waiting for me to come before they started to make a dash for the soccer poles. Philisande was the first one, then me, Matthew, Connor, Devon and Aiden.

Philisande was a Xhosa speaking boy. He was brown of course, had dark brown eyes, black really short (almost dots) hair and his lips kind of stood out from his brownness.

Matthew was much lighter than me in texture, had short black hair, brown eyes and was thinner and smaller than me.

Connor always wore a jacket, even in the summer heat and had light brown hair, dark brown eyes and was the same texture as Matthew. He too was thin.

Devon was actually a grade below us (grade 5) and had black hair along with dark brown eyes, light skin texture and thin limbs.

Aiden was almost looking like Matthew except his lips were always white (literally).

Aiden was naar (South African word for colloquialism: Angry). “Okay so it was…” said Connor, “Philisande, Imraan, Matthew, me, Devon and Aiden’s on!” We were playing double lessee (double tag) where two people were on.

“No man,” said Aiden angrily, “Imraan and Devon was on yesterday.” “Yeah, but we start a new game each day,” replied Devon.

We all heard the bell ring and went to pick up our bags from the line. Of all of my friends, only Aiden was in my class. Now all thirty-nine children line up and waited and waited…

your eyes - February 16, 2012 by Imraan Dixon

There’s a light in your eyes
A light that never dies
Your eyes make up the ties that bind
Your eyes show generousity and show that you are kind                                                                                                                                                                     The sparkles in your eyes shine like the brightest star
And I love you
Because that’s the way you are!

Just wanted to see if I can write a poem
Please tell me if this is good or bad.

Element Ep 10: Reunited - February 16, 2012 by Imraan Dixon
This entry is part 10 of 11 in the series Element Ep 1:

Element Ep 10: Reunited

Dan fell and hit a rock hard. Very hard. Then, Helios came. It was all so sudden. All Dan could see was a blur and then blackness…

Then Dan woke with a start. The first thing that came to mind as fast he got up was: “didn’t I die?” Just then, he realised what happened and before he could think, he said: “Thank you Helios.” Then he stared at his surroundings. “Helios?”

Dan flew into the sky. He saw no mother ship. “What?” he said to himself. He flew even higher passing the clouds and feeling a cold wetness spread over his body. There was nothing there either. “You got to be kidding me,” he said to himself stressfully. He stared around thoroughly (even though it was barren) and saw a plane coming.

Everyone by the windows stared in amazement. As the plane flew, it tilted unstably, but got its balance after a while. Dan saw a small spark as if the plane hit something invisible. Just then, the air shimmered and a spaceship was visible. Dan looked at one part of the ship. It was broken.

“Sir, cloaking device is unstable,” Dan heard a voice saying calmly on his portable radio thingy. “Then fix it!” another ordered. It actually sounded like Mesphar.

Dan flew in hypermode to the ship. Unaware that Mesphar was watching on his radar.

Meanwhile: Control Room

Mesphar ran out the door and into the corridors. He stopped by where Max and the others were captured and hid by a gap in the path.

Meanwhile: Mother ship

Dan got in and when an alien saw him, he concentrated very hard. “Tim Sop Nawa!” he said (it’s pronounced Teem-sop-naa-waa). The alien just stood like a statue. Dan proceeded onward.

Later: The Corridors

Dan had little time left. He had his last chance on this door. “Please be it,” he said quietly. “Stars,” he said. His fist turned into one shining ball of gas. He punched the door and the metal bent like rubber. Then he quickly said: “Tim Nawa!” Lucky for him, it was the right door!

“Max, Kenta, Kex, Dante, Kyle…” he said excitedly, “It’s you guys!” Then he started giving everyone a friendly hug. Mesphar was stunned. “How did he get here so quickly and so sneakily?” Obviously, the alarms were not sounded so these were Mesphar’s theories.

Dan could see they fought their way out, but was overwhelmed. They had bruises and Kex and Dante had blood dripping in their mouths. “Come!” said Dan very suddenly, “We go to go!” Dan turned to see Mesphar staring at him stupidly. “Going somewhere?” asked Mesphar in an evil tone, “But you just got here.” Dan got mad now. Kenta then pushed Dan aside and said: “Let me take care of him.”

Dan sat on one of the metal beds he found. It was solid and cold. When he sat on it, it did not warm up like normal beds or chairs, it stayed cold. Especially since Dan was getting hot in the summer. He thought it probably adapted to the season. He looked around while he could hear in the background Mesphar making a fool out of Kenta. There was a toilet that flushed before you know you’re even done (don’t think he tried it. He read the label). There was the bath that rather merged with a sink and lastly, he saw a bookshelf and a book on a table. The book was open. It was narrating what words were there (which you would think is somewhat dumb) and visually displaying the contents of the book.

Then Dan listened to Kenta. “Well if we’re slaves, why do we get such a nice room?” “Well… umm… uhh… we ran out of rooms,” replied Mesphar. “And you ran out of words.”

Kenta used freez’em. Freez’em was when he used to sing his song and freeze people. “Ice, ice baby…” Mesphar stood in place, frozen. Max looked at the bed where Dan was and was so attentive to Kenta, he didn’t see Dan vanish.

Then an intercom voice said: “Self Destruction in ten, nine…” They knew it was Dan.

Later: Sky

Everyone escaped this time and no casualties.

Hospital Flowers – Chapter Two – Souls Don’t Die - February 16, 2012 by xThreeDaysGracex
This entry is part 2 of 3 in the series Hospital Flowers

“Aye…! Wake up and play!”

Aye opened his eyes to see a little girl staring down at him. She looked no more than 7, with hundreds of freckles sprinkled across her cheeks, strawberry blonde hair. The exact same colour as Finn’s.

She wore a white pleated dress and sensible school shoes and was grinning broadly at Aye. Aye decided everything seemed normal about her…until he noticed those feathery wings on her back, that halo that was lopsided on her plaited hair.

“Who are you…?” Aye asked. Where was he, was an even better question. He was in a large, white, vast expanse. No end or beginning. It seemed to go on forever.

The little girl giggled, took his hand and made him stand up.

“I’m your cousin. Don’t you remember me? Oh…wait. We were both about the same age. I remember it now!”

Aye wracked his brains hard. Cousin?

The little girl shook her head.

“I was killed in a road accident. Remember? I ran out after the ball and got hit by a car when we were in the park. Don’t you know anything?”

Ah. Yes. It was Grace. Aye’s cousin. She was so sweet. She had a cheeky charm and had a knack of getting everybody to like her. If she played her cards right, she got candy. And she would always share with Aye and Finn. Tragedy struck about a week after her 7th birthday. The three of them were playing in the park. The ball bounced out of the gates and into the road. She ran to get it…the squeal of the brakes…a scream.

Aye closed his eyes shut. He didn’t want to remember.

“Am I dead?” he asked finally.

“Nope. You lucky little whatsit! You’re simply….in a coma. The adults say it a lot. They said I was in a coma, but I didn’t wake up”

Aye wanted to cry. This little girl. Younger than him. Her life cut short. And she knew so much about it.

“Don’t cry silly. Grandpapa says that even though you’re gone, your soul hasn’t. Souls live forever and ever…I’m still here with you”

Aye smiled down at Grace and she grinned a cheeky little one back at him

“Souls don’t die” she repeated, giving his hand a comforting squeeze.

Hmph, what an interesting chapter. I was writing this then I randomly thought of Iron Giant (me and my sister CRIED at The Iron Giant….we are that sad (: )

Rock on, peace out, and all that jazz (: Keep writing, and if you have writers block tell your “muse” to stop stuffing it’s face with delicious poptarts and help you write! :D
My muse is a silvery purple fox that likes strawberry or chocolate poptarts. Really xD

Light,light,
Light up my day
Light, light,
Show me the way
Light, light,
Bring tears of joy
To whichever girl or boy
Light, light,
Make the bond between the earth and the sun
Or else we’ll be done.

This is the only too poems I’m writing untill I get a good comment
