Hi Everyone! I know haven’t written in a while so I am going to start over and write a new story! Please leave some comments and tell me if you like or don’t like my story!

Chapter One: The Candles on my Birthday Cake have Frozen Flames
Waves crashed against the sandy shore of the beach. The sea foamy seem angry and the gray cloud-filled sky seemed to be crying with rage. Two creatures were fighting not far from where my dream -self stood. One was a bird that seemed to be on fire; a Phoenix. The other being was a blue-green serpent. I knew I had to keep them from killing each other. I tried to run towards them, but I was not as fast in Dream World as I was on Earth. Every time I tried to run faster the wind blew harder. What was mo; the wind blew salt water into my face and rain drentched my clothes. Then….
I woke up. I was in my bed at home. The sheets had made their way to the floor as the did every time I had that dream. It was always the same. I always woke before I could help the bird and the serpent.
I glanced at the clock on my dresser. 8:23 the large red numbers said. I sat up and listened to the sound of bickering that came from outside my bedroom door.
“You ruined the cake!” the voice of my mother shouted.
“And you didn’t “accidentally” buy her a baton instead of a sea staff?” came the sarcastic voice of my older sister, Aphrodite.
***************************** Pause ******************************
Before I tell you anything else, I should tell you why my sister and I (my name is Athena by the way) were named after Greek Goddesses. Our mother, Hestia, said that there was a tradition in our family to name all female children after Greek of any other Goddess.
**************************** Continue ****************************
I hated it when they fought. They could not agree on anything.
-Which movie to watch on family night
-What kind of frozen ice-cream to get
-Not even on my Birthday
I could go on and on, but you get my drift.
Anyway I got up and got out of my room and made noises with my feet so they would know I was awake and coming to the kitchen.
There was some scuffling and muttering an then, quiet. I got to the kitchen door and saw my mom and sister sitting at the kitchen table, a large cake was on the table. One half of the cake was Oreo cookies flavor and the other half, whipped cream with cherries and strawberries on top. 13 candles with bright flames were on the that pretty cake. I smiled. Even if they couldn’t agree, my mom and sister made sure that their arguments never got in the way with my events.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!” they screamed.
“Blow the candles!” mom suggested.
“No open your present!” retorted Aphrodite.
*See what I mean?*
“I think I’ll blow the candles first,” I told them after that I wish I had chosen the present.
My mom, looking smugly at Aphrodite, pulled a chair over to the cake and patted it. I slid into it and leaned over and blew.
Ice. Or rather frozen fire. I stared. Behind me I heard my mother’s gasp and my sister’s sharp intake of breath.
I turned and looked at them. “What – happened?”
Mom or Hestia as I would soon be forced to call her said simply,” Come with me.”
To be Continued….
This is the continuation of Chapter One: The Candles on my Birthday Cake have Frozen Flames. Enjoy!!

Confused, I got up from my chair and followed my family outside to my mother’s black Cadillac. She unlocked all the doors and we got it.
“Step on it!” shouted my Aphrodite to my mom and my mom for once didn’t argue.
The car veered out of the smooth driveway and onto the black asphalt of the neighborhood road. With the screech of brakes Hestia switched from reverse to forward and hit the gas. We sped down the road. Our tires screeched and skidded. Behind us I heard a screech of something else. It wasn’t the tires, though. Turning in my seat I a large creature with leathery bat-like wings and gnarly hand with large yellow talons. In one hand she held a bronze spear.
I screamed. I’m sorry, but, it’s the truth. I am not a person that is easy to scary, but that thing was not normal!! I turned around in my seat and asked,” What the heck is that thing?!”
“A Guru. They will rip your flesh off with their claws if need be.” Aphrodite replied.
“And it’s chasing us because…?”
“Because it wants YOU”
That scared me. Suddenly the car came to a stop in front of a hotel that seemed to shimmer with golden light. We all got out of the car and mom lead us to the large french doors. She knocked and shouted,” Open up! It is Hestia!”
The doors flew open just as the Guru caught up with us. It dove at me. A large weight barreled into me and I was out like a light.
************************************************************
I woke up in a bed. Blinking I gazed around the large spacious room. I had never thought rooms in hotels would have marble floors and large white-washed pillars.
I sat up and saw a girl with long golden-brown hair asleep in a chair next to the bed. I felt uncomfertable, sitting up in bed while she was asleep. I was wondering whether to wake her or let her sleep when the girl stirred.
“No…trap..”she murmured. Her eyes suddenly opened. They were a dark brown and seemed to swirl like mine except mine were a blue-green color.
“Athena!” the girl cried,” I am so glad that you weren’t hurt!” Unexpectedly she flung her arms around my neck and hugged me.
“Do I know you?” I asked.
“Of course you know me. You just don’t remember me,” she said,” My name is Annabeth DiLosa.”
“I am..” I began.
“I know who you are,” Annabeth cut me off,” You’re Athena Wise.”
Just then there was a knock on the door. Annabeth got up from her chair and strode to the door. When she opened it I could see a boy that was looked my age and had spiky blonde hair.
“Tancred,”Annabeth said with a hostile tone.
“Annabeth,” the boy, Tancred, said,” Kar sent me to tell you that the party is almost ready.”
“Good, I shall make sure Athena is ready.”
That was when Tancred seemed to catch sight of me. He waved as if we were long lost friends. I didn’t know what else to do so I waved back.
Annabeth closed the door in a rush, as if she was afraid Tancred would give me some disease.
“Come on,” Annabeth said,” Let’s give you a makeover.”
“A makeover?” I asked,” Why?”
“Because for the last two hours you blacked out, the rest of the Benders and parents have been decorating for a real birthday party.”
Grinning she grabbed my arm and dragged me out of bed and to the closet.
To be continued….

Chapter Two: Who let the Monsters in? Who? Who?
Annabeth threw open the closet doors. Inside were dresses upon dresses. I gulped. You see, I have only worn a dress once or twice in my life. I prefer jeans and a T-shirt.
Annabeth pulled out a bright red dress with the light image of flames. I immediately knew that was one dress I would never be caught wearing. I hated fire.
Annabeth seemed to notice my discomfort. “No,” she said, as if she were a fashion director,” This won’t do.”
Next she pulled out a blue-green dress. The color was perfect and when I tried it on it fit me.
After we found a dress, Annabeth pulled me to a large make-up desk. In the big mirror I could see Annabeth comb out my waist-length black hair and pinned my a few locks of my hair back with a green rhinestone studded pin. Then, she handed my some sand dollar earrings and a sea shell bracelet to put on.
“There!” Annabeth cried, pleased with her work.
I looked at my self in the mirror. “I look like a piece of the sea floor,” I said good natured. To tell you the truth, I actually liked it. The blue-green dress made a good combination with my eyes (which were also blue-green) and my long black hair. I smiled at Annabeth. She said she’d be back in a minute and then was gone.
I looked around the room. I was going to sit on the bed when a picture frame caught my eye. The picture was of four little kids. One with golden-brown hair and dark brown eyes. The second kid was a nice looking boy with smooth blonde hair and light blue eyes. The third little girl was a pale girl with scarlet red hair and eyes as black as coals. The fourth little kid was…me. At least she had the same hair and eyes as me.
I had to stop looking at the picture when Annabeth, came back into the room. She was wearing a green dress that had the faint out images of leaves on it. It looked great on her. Annabeth lead me down the hall and it was only then did I wonder who’s room it had been.
“Annabeth.”
“Yes.”
“Who was in that picture on the table?” I asked.
She smiled,” That was me, Tancred, Nelly, and you.”
“Me?” I asked, ” Why don’t I remember taking the picture?”
“It’s a long story, but all you really need to know for now is that, your memory wiped out. You won’t be able to remember anything of your past,” Annabeth said,” On that happy note, here is the banquet hall!”
I turned toward a stair case and saw a large banner hanging from the ceiling. It read; Welcome Back, Athena!!” Balloons were tied to the tables and seats and large dishes of food were set on the table. I gaped. I had never had a party this grand.
Annabeth prodded me in the back with her fingers and I slowly walked down the stairs. That’s when I noticed the people. There were at least forty people in that room. Women and Men. Teens and toddlers. Small infants and old people. I didn’t know if I could remember all these people!
Out of the crowd a man with pale yellow hair stepped from the crowd. He wore a Island of the Bahama’s T-shirt with pictures coconuts and seagulls all over it and a pair of denim blue shorts. He looked like your average guy, except he radiated power.
“Athena!” the man said in a kind voice,” I believe you do not remember me? I am Charlie Furio, but to you I am, well, Dad.”
I stared at him. The man had said everything in a rush as if he was afraid I would stop him. Dad? I had never had a dad. Hestia had always told me that he had to leave on an important errand and never came back.
“Hi?” I tried. The WHOLE crowd of people burst out laughing. Suddenly the boy Tancred and a red headed girl came up and stood next to Charlie. Tancred grinned at me and the other looked at me with amused contempt.
“Athena, this is Nelly and Tancred and you already know Annabeth,” Charlie introduced the two,” The are your, close friends.”
I looked at him incredulously. “Friends?” I asked,” How do I know them, exactly?”
“Through me,” he explained,” You see, their moms are different, but I am their father.” I was confused, but then I grasped his meaning.
Just then Hestia came up to Charlie and whispered in his ear. Charlie nodded and said,” Before we celebrate, I think we should tell Athena why she is here after spending her life in the mortal world.” He turned and sat at the table.
“You see Athena, the people here are all rebels. There are more at the camp, but for now, these are that could make it here. We fight to over throw King Suntan. He rules over our world and is destroying it.”
I interrupted,” I thought the world was ruled by presidents and prime ministers.”
“Yes, that’s in the mortal world.”
“You say it like you aren’t mortal,” I said.
“You’re right. We are not.” Charlie said,” You and me and everyone here, cannot died by age, only by swords made by our immortal blacksmiths. Now, where was I? Ah, yes, we rebel against the king and seek to put a new successor on the throne. I am one of the Rebel’s most powerful weapon. I can bend water, fire, earth, air, and electricity. Annabeth can bend earth and Tancred electricity. Nelly uses fire. You are undetermined. When we find your talent we will make you a symbol of power like all benders have.”
I stared at him. I thought he was playing some sort of joke on me, because, I couldn’t bend a thing and I was sure I was mortal.
Suddenly, music started playing.
“Party time!” Charlie cried.
To be continued….
Continuation of Chapter Two: Who let the Monsters in? Who? Who?

Charlie grinned from ear to ear and began to dance. The hall was filled with rock music. From what he had just told me, about him being immortal and all, I would have thought rock music would have been foriegn to them.
After they danced and cut the cake Charlie announced,” Time for presents!” I turned to another table and blinked. On the table were five boxes. I walked to the table and looked at Charlie. He nodded. I took the first box. Inside was a jade necklace from Annabeth. In the next one, was a silver cloak.
“I thought you might need,” Tancred explained,”It gets cold at camp.”
“Thanks,” I said.
The next gift was obviously from Nelly. The paper on the box was red and when I touched it it burned for a minute then suddenly turned cool. Nelly’s smug smile faded when I got the box open with out burning myself. Annabeth snorted when she saw what was in the box. A watch was in the box. Its glass had painted flames and on it was the clock’s hands and numbers.
“Press the button,” Nelly said. Her voice was cold as if I had offended her. NervouslyI pushed a button the watch tranformed into a brass shield.
“Thanks,” I muttered, although I didn’t know it would ever come in handy.
“Now here’s my gift,” Charlie said.
I opened his box and stared. A small golden bottle of…mascara?
“Umm…thanks,” I said quietly,” I will use it the next time I have to go to a fancy party.”
“That is not…Oh! just uncap it!” Charlie cried.
I spun open the golden top and suddenly I held a golden blade in my hand.
“Wow! That’s extremly cool!”I admitted,” But I don’t need a sword.”
“Don’t need a blade?!” Charlie cried. The entire hall erupted in laughter.
“You’ll need a sword all right!” Tancred cried,” Unless you want to we shredded to ribbons by monsters!”
Blushing, I touched the cap to the tip of the sword. It became a bottle of mascara again.
“The sword’s name is Guvana Mara.” Charlie said.
“Golden Claw” I translated, surprised that I knew.
Just as Charlie was about say something, the large doors of the banquet hall flew open. A large bull man stood fromed in the doorway. Two white horns were on his head and he had a large snout and was only wear underwear.
“Tancred!” Charlie growled,” Take Athena out of hear and to camp. Now.” Then, Charlie took from his pant’s pocket, a pencil. Twirling it in the air it soon turned into a sword. Tancred grabbed my hand and dragged me to a door at the end of the hall. He opened the door and we rushed outside. In the open air, dusk was falling and the sun was low in the evening sky. To our left was a thick forest of trees. To our right, I could see the ocean, glittering in the last rays of the setting sun.
“Come on,” Tancred called. He started walking towards the woods.
“Why are we going to the forest?” I asked, catching up with him.
“We have to get through the forest and on the other side there is the Secret Camp,” Tancred explained.
The woods were dark and only the faintest trickles of light came through the closely pack leaves. I had never been in the forest. My dress, kept getting snagged on tree branches and tearing. Suddenly, out of the dark bushed a large black wolf bore down on us. In a flash, a silver sword was in Tancred’s hands. I just stared at the thing.
“Oh, it’s you,” the wolf growled. Then, it transformed, before my eyes, into shaggy, dark hair boy. “I thought intruders finally got the guts to enter my forest.”
“ Cap, this is an emergency,” Tancred said,” A Minetar is after Athena!”
That’s was when “Cap” noticed me. “Athena?” he asked. Then his black eyes brightened somewhat and he cried,” I thought you were gone!” The next thing I new Cap had wrapped me in a huge bear…uhh..wolf hug. Tancred had some trouble prying Cap off me. “Dude, Cap!” Tancred cried, snapping his fingers in Cap’s face,” Emergency? Minetar? Does that mean anything to you?”
“Right!” Cap said seriously,” On my back!”
There was a wolf again. Tancred climbed onto the large back and held out his hand to me. I took it and he hoisted me up behind him. Then we were off. Wind whipped my hair behind me and the trees were nothing but brown and green blurs. Cap was running and as he ran, I think I saw white and brown blurs in the trees, keeping pace with us. Cap traveled through the forest, that would have taken us at least two days to cover on foot, in a few minutes. We raced out of the forest and Cap skidded to a halt. I lurched forward and painfully banged my head against Tancred’s.
I slid off of Cap’s back and as soon as my feet touched the ground, I crippled to the grassy floor. My vision was blurry and my head was swimming. I felt as if I had done a flip or something while drinking a cold ice cream sundae.I felt Tancred’s hand on my shoulder and heard him say something to Cap. I bits and pieces of his conversation,” ….could’ve gotten hurt…you know she hasn’t…..needs to get used to it again….” As my vision started to become normal again, I saw a apple farm, not far from where we were. A large farm house stood siluetted against the setting sun .
“Are you okay, Athena?” Cap’s voice brought me back to earth. He had returned to human form and was looking at me with consern.
“Ya,” I replied. I wasn’t lieing, more or less. Just then, two teenagers, one with dark brown and an other with light blonde hair.
“Gole and Alli,” Tancred greeted them.
“Tancred,” the blonde one said and smiled at me. The brown haired one seemed to look right through me.
“Anthena,” Cap introduced them,” The blonde guy is Gole and the brown haired is Alli.”
“Hi,” I said,” I am Athena Wise.”
“We know who you are,” Alli said in a smooth, silky voice.
Chapter Three: I Meet an Immortal Blacksmith

“You know me?” I asked. I was finding it weird how the people here seemed to know me and I had no idea who or what they were.
“Of course,” Cap said,” Your very familiar with me.”
I nodded and before Cap could say anything else, Tancred grabbed my hand and told Cap, and his friends that we had to get going. Cap’s eyes locked with mine and then I heard him. He didn’t say anything. He spoke…in my head.
“Don’t worry, Athena. Promise me that you’ll visit the forest again. Just like old times,” Cap thought.
“Sure,” I laughed,” I will make sure to see you and the rest of your friends.” Somehow I knew there were more…wolves than the three I had seen. Cap with drew from my mind and I saw a smile dancing on his lips. Tancred was speaking with Gole and he had turned towards the farm.
“Come on, Athena,” Tancred called. I waved to Cap and turned and ran to catch up with Tancred.
“Who are they, Tancred?” I asked.
“They are the Forest Guardians. They guard the woods and keep out monsters and protect the camp,” Tancred explained.
I nodded. Just then we got to the farm house. On the front porch a dark orange lion sat next to the open door of the farm house. I stopped ten feet from it. Tancred on the other hand, walked right up to the beast and ran his hand through its mane. It panted with gratitued, showing its large razor sharp teeth.
“Come on, Athena,” Tancred coaxed,” He won’t hurt you.”
I could trust Tancred, but I wasn’t so sure about trusting those teeth. I gather up my “courage” as they say in the stories, and forced myself to pat the animal. Then next minute, the thing had knock me over and was standing over me, while I screamed my head off.
“I knew it!” I thought,” This is the most absurd way to die when your only fourteen!” But, the lion didn’t bite into me as I had expected. Instead, he covered me face in a huge lick from his rough tongue then, resumed its position by the door. Tancred, was rolling on the porch floor, laughing his head off.
I “hurumphed” and pointedly turned my back on him.
“I’m sorry” Tancred said, recovering from his laughing fit,” It’s just that when you used to be here, before your memory was wiped off by Juli, Hanster, here loved to play with you. It looks like he hasn’t forgoten you in 9 years.” Tancred’s face turned somber and he said,” We should go inside.”
We entered the farm house and inside I saw a small picnic table. Sitting at the table was a small man with a Tiger Striped T-shirt and black demon jeans. Next to him sat Charlie.
“Ahh, Athena,” Charlie said,” It’s good to see you alive. I hope you didn’t run into anything bad in the woods, did you?”
“No, sir,” I said.
“Good, now sit, so that we can talk of your past,” Charlie said. In books I had read, people usually wanted to talk to the main charecters about their future. But then, most of them know what happened when they were five and six.
I sat in a chair and asked,” Who is Julie, sir?”
Charlie’s head looked up from the sketch of a spear he was examining,” Julie?! Where did you hear that name?”
Somehow, I knew if I told him Tancred had told me, Tancred would get into trouble, so I said,” We ran into Cap and some of his..um..buddies. They told me.”
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Tancred’s eye widen as he heard my lie. Charlie, thank goodness, bought it,“Hmm..those boys always did have big mouths. Oh well, I suppose you have the right to know. Julie is your sister.”

Chapter Three: I Meet an Immortal Blacksmith

“M-my sister?” I choked. Suddenly the whole day seemed so over whelming and I had so many questions that my head started to swim.
“Tancred,” Charlie called,” Get her some Honey Sip.”
I heard Tancred leave the room, but I had so many more questions that; “What the heck is Honey Sip?”, was lost in the mass of questions.
“Athena, calm down,” Charlie soothed.
“I can’t,” I exploded,” Everyone I have met so far seems to know me and I have no clue who they are! I was taken from my house without any idea why and brought to that hotel! I am hallucinating bull men and bat..bat things. I have no idea what the HECK Honey Sip is and…and…”
“Athena,” the second, man that sat next to my father spoke for the first time,” I understand how you feel.”
I calmed down a little. Tancred came back inside and crouched next to my chair,” Here, this is Honey Sip. Dirk it until your head feels better.”
I took the glass and put the straw to my mouth and took a sip. I almost dropped the glass when I tasted it. It tasted like grapes and apples. Cookies and sugary treats. Ribs and chicken. Vegetables. And all sorts of things that shouldn’t have gone good together, but did. And behind it all was the faint flavor of honey. All that in one sip. I drained the glass. I know it was rude, but I hadn’t realized how thirsty I was until I had dark that glass of..what did he call it?……..Honey Sip.
I opened my eyes, which I hadn’t realized I had closed.
“Better?” Charlie asked.
I gave him a smile. Tancred gingerly to my glass and set it on the table, then pulled a chair up to the table next to me.
“Now as I was saying,” Charlie continued,” Julie, she was my daughter like you, except I knew that she didn’t have the power to bend the elements. When I told her, she became horribly depressed. Never wanted to do sword practice or play with the wolves. She resented you for being able to bend, because, I guess she thought it wasn’t fair since she was older.”
“Wait,” I interrupted,” What about Aphrodite? Is she your daughter too?”
“No,” Charlie explained,” Your mother was married to another man named, Jonathan Ogling, and Aphrodite was their daughter. But, Jonathan died in a freak car accident. Then, Hestia and I met. We got married and had Julie, then you.”
I nodded. Aphrodite had always avoided talk about “father” and she didn’t look anything like me. Her hair was strawberry blonde and she had hazel colored eyes.
“As I was saying,” Charlie continued,” Julie was jealous of you. One day Julie was watching you and Tancred sparring and Holanda, our camp magician saw her. She talked to me. Said that she sensed that Julie had a thing for magic. She took her on as an apprentice. Two years pasted. You turned nine and she turned twelve. One day you were taking a tour of the woods. We put you in pairs. I made a bad mistake of pairing you up with her. I thought she would get used to being with you again.”
Charlie shook his head,” We found you later, on the ground. Julie had washed your our memories. She had left you there. We still don’t know where she went..although, we have our suspicions.”
I didn’t want to believe it, but I could see that Charlie was telling the truth. To take my mind off what he had just told me I stared out of the a large window. Annabeth was standing on a bare patch of ground with her eys closed. Suddenly a large rock lifted off the ground she opened her eys. She lrust her hands forward and the rock catapalted towards Nelly. The girl doged the boulder with incredible speed and the moment she was up she shot a ball of FIRE at Annabeth.
“Wow!”I cried,” Aren’t they gonna hurt each other?”
“They might,” Tancred said, looking at the fight,” But, they often parctice their talent.”
“And do you?” I asked,” Do you bend electricity?”
“Yes,”Tancred replied as if that cleared it up.
I turned and Charlie cried,” Where are my manners?” He gestured towards the man next to him,” This Duncan, our Immortal Blacksmith.”
“You’ve got an Immortal Blacksmith?” I asked.
“Sure,” Charlie shrugged,” We need someone to make swords.”
“No offence to you,” I told Ducun,” But do you have to be immortal?”
“Yes,” Ducun said,” Only I know how to make swords that can kill immortals. Guns and swords made by mortals can’t harm us. The king somehow has the same kind of swords. So it’s even.”
Charlie dug his hand into his pocket and pulled out the bottle of mascara that I had left at the hotel,” Don’t ever let your sword out of your sight. Guvan Mara will save your life more than once, take my word for it.”
Just then the door opened and my mom came into the room. “Charlie, Athena’s bending course is ready.”
Charlie smiled,” Good, Hestia! Come on Athena, let’s see what element obeys your command.”
Chapter Four: I Become Supreme Master of the Creek

Outside, I noticed the forest that surrounded the camp. Tall trees as wide as cars and as tall as …. well you would have to measure.
“Redwoods!” I murmmered. Oh yah, I forgot to tell you that even though I have lived in San Fancisco, I have never seen so many Redwoods in one place!
“Yes,” Charlie said,” We have a whole forest of Muirwoods and many wolfs roam the area. You’ve already met Cap. He is the leader of the pack.”
As Charlie finished talking, we entered the woods. Trees rose up on ether side of us and the air smelled sweet and of soft bark. We walked a at least half a mile before reaching a clearing. Sunlight steamed down and glittered off of a rushing creek. Annabeth and Nelly were waiting for us a and Cap was there, too. He was with four other wolf. Aphrodite was sitting on a small tree stump.
“Athena,” Charlie called. He was standing on large boulder. He gestured for me to join him. I climbed up onto the top. I stood on top of the boulder. Its surface was smooth and from my perch, I could see the creek and the ground far below(at least 20 feet). Above me the light blue sky held only a few clouds, and they were as fluffy as whipp cream.
“So, Athena,” Charlie said,” The way to test your power is to speak to the elements. Try Earth first. Say, in your mind, “Rise”
I thought,” This is INSANE,” but I followed Charlie’s instructions. Rise, I thought slowly. Nothing happened. The few excruciating moments occered again when I tried, Ball of Fire, on Fire. Nelly showed me how to created the fire ball by cupping my palms together so that is the fire appeared, it would not fall. I held my palms like that for a few seconds. The same thing happened as when I tried to bend Earth. Nothing.
“Try Air,” Annabeth suggested from the ground. I did. Zero. Nada. NOTHING.
Finally, Charlie suggested water,” Why don’t you try to tell it to make a arc.”
For some reason, I didn’t feel discouraged. Arc, I thought. For a few seconds nothing occered, then with a spluttering noise water gushed from the right side of the creek and created an arce over the water.
The whole group was silent. Then, as if a switch was turned on, everyone broke into applause.
“Way to go, Athena!” Cap shouted.
I let the arc fall back to the flowing creek, but everyone was still cheering and yelling. All, except Nelly of course.
We all got to camp in a rush. Cap called two more of his wolf friends and we mounted them. I found myself of Cap’s back for the second time in that day. “So,” he thought,” You can talk to water, huh?”
“I guess,” I thought.
“Good, I would hate to think that you were a fire talker,” Cap told me with his mind,” We wolves are not fans of fire. our wolf side of the family has had horrible losses from forest fires. It’s why we keep away from Nelly Flame.”
***************************************************************************************
We reached the camp in the matter of minutes. Everyone at the camp was doing his or her normal things, but they eyed me causiously as I followed Charlie to a large brick building.
Cap and his friends had gone back to the woods saying,” Mosters don’t wait for a chance to enter our territory.”
We reached the building and on the porch, sitting in a rocking chair, sat an middle aged woman. She had curly red hair and pale skin. Her eyes were a startling grey and she was staring into space as is she was day-dreaming, but she ether saw us or she had a really good nose, she called,” Charlie! Do you and your daughter need anything?”
“Yes, Clara,” Charlie said,” My daughter was determined as a Water Speaker, so she need her animal.”
“Ahh,” Clara murmured,” Her mascot you mean? Very well, come inside.”
“What mascot?” I asked Charlie.
“Well you see, every bender needs a bending partner. I have Hanster, my lion, he can breathe fire, glide, swim, and dig tunnels endlessly under ground.. Annabeth has her fox, Grove, who can tunnel under ground for more than two hours without stop. Tancred had his Snow White Owl, Nightstalker, who’s wings spark with electricy and Nelly has her Coyote, who’s tail is made up of fire,” Charlie explained while we made our way to an small table. On it was a gridded section.
“Place your hand on the grid, dear,” Clara told me. I placed my hand on the grid and imedietly felt a tinggling sensation.
Across from the table was a blank tv. Now on its surface was the picture of a golden…dog?
“Ah!” Clara cried,” There you go. Your mascot is a Golden Dog.”
Chapter Four: I get an Underwater Breatheing dog for a Mascot

“A dog?” I asked. Deep down inside I felt a little flare of jealousy. Annabeth got a fox and Tancred got an owl.Neither of those were not your every day animals.
”Yes, a dog,” Charlie replied heading for the door,” Come on, let’s go get the puppy.”
I heaved a sigh. I was getting tired, but I followed my dad outside.
To my right the sun hovered over the glittering expance of salt-water getting ready to set.
”Come,” Charlie called. He was standing in the center of sitting logs that were positioned to create a circle.
I walked over to him and he patted a large golden colored log that sat in the center of the ring of logs.
I sat down and a tingly feeling krept into my limbs. My hands felt numb and I couldn’t feel my feet. The tingly feeling continued and Charlie told me,” Stay here.” He turned and hurried owards a grassy hut. In a few minutes he came out with an old woman. Her silver hair was held back with a clasp and she wore a velvet dress.
“Athena,” Charlie said,” This is Horlanda our Camp Magician.”
I remembered that she was the one who had mentored Julie and I was not sure she was going to be one of my favorite people.
“Athena,” Horlanda greeted me in a cold voice.
I didn’t want to speek to her, but I for myself to mutter,” Hi.”
“So you want your little pet?” her voice was sarcastic and I didn’t like it.
“Yes, ma’m” I murmered.
“Very well,” she growled,” I might as well.”
She began to wave her hand and then suddenly she cried,” Undera Wleta Breatheri Dogla.”
I was confused. Was this old lady going to put me under another spell?
Apperently that wasn’t the plan. As Horlanda finished her babling, I felt a tingling. The air seemed to shimmer. Then in my lap a golden form shimmer. Then became solid. A dog with shining, golden fur lay in my lap. Its head was on its paws and its eyes are closed.
“Oh!” I cried.
“Ahh,” Charlie said,” Your dog! All you have to do is name him.”
“Ya,” I said,” I’ll think of one soon.”
“Good.” Charlie said,” You should rest now.”
He was right. The sun was behind the tall mountains and only slivers light cast light across the camp.
“Come,” Charlie called. He lead me to a cabin with each was painted differently. One wall had plats on the walls. On another was painted flames. On the third was thunder bolts. On the last was swirling blue paint that resembled the sea. The roof was painted as the sky.
Charlie opened the door and inside I saw that Annabeth, Tancred, and Nelly were all getting ready for bed. There were buck beds and regular beds.
“Athena1″ Annabeth cried,” Come here. We have your bunk ready.”
To be Continued….
Sorry about not publishing Athena for a while. If you’ve read all of the other parts then, what are you reading this for? Go ahead and skip to the story. But if you haven’t read the other parts, then you should go back and read them so you know what the heck is going on in here.
Chapter Five: Hawk Gives Me Clues to His Powers
“Help me, someone!” he seeemed to be crying desperatly.
“Wait,” I yelled through the sound of the wipping wind,” I’m coming!”
“No!”
I woke up. It always happened that way, you know. I get to the part that is most important and then something wakes me up. I looked around the cabin. Last night, Annabeth had showed me to this bed and told me to wake up up at 8:30 for breakfast. I glanced at the large clock that hung over the closed cabin door. The small hand pointed to 8 and the long hand pointed to the 12. 8:12. I had 18 minutes to get ready.
I yawned and streched. It was only then that I noticed the golden lump that lay half buried in my side. Dispite myself, I smiled. I had never had a pet, see. Aphrodite was alergic to fur. The only animal I had ever had in my house was a fishbowl with five small goldfish. They were pretty and all, but goldfish can’t exactly play with you or snuggle up in your lap. Besides, they all jumped out of their bowl four days after we got them ’cause for some unknown reason the water had started to churn.
So as I was saying, the puppy was asleep when a name for him popped up in my mind. Hawk, I thought, I will name him Hawk.
Just as I was about to drift back to sleep, the cabin door was flung open and a girl’s voice called,” Rise and shine, Element Heads! The day is begining!” The girl had a British acent and her thick blonde hair was coloected into a ponytail.
“Oh, Laura!” Nelly moaned,” It isn’t even 8:20 yet!”
“Well,” Laura taunted,” Aren’t you sleepy today!”
“Nelly always sleepy!” Tancred joked,” I’m surpriesed she doesn’t fall asleep during sword practice!” Nelly threw a feather pillow in his face.
Sword practice!?, I thought wildly. Then, I felt the small bottle of mascara that I had safely tucked into the pocket of the nightgown I had found on my bed.
“Athena!” Annabeth called from above me,” Get up, it’s your first full day at camp!”
“Yippe. Hooray.” Nelly called sarcasticly from her bunk,” Athena’s come to stay!”
“Oh, Nelly, stop being such a meanie!” the blonde girl teased. She walked over to my bed and I got up. “Hi, I’m Laura,” she introduced herself.
“Hi,” I said, shaking her out-streached hand,” I am Athena.”
“Nice to meet you, Athena!” Laura smiled,” I am your sword practice supervisor. You and your friends will be sword practicing with me after breakfast.”
She turned and to leave.” And, Athena,” she called,”Bring your sword and sheild with you!”
She exited the cabin and walked towards the mess hall.
“Ohhhhh, that is a really cute dog,” Annabeth cued. She was neeling next to me bed and stroking the dog. His long golden fur glinted in the sun light that poured from the open door. Annabeth’s fox was sniffling and nuzzling the puppy as a mother dog would her own pup.
“I think Grove’s motherly insticts are takeing over,” Tancred grinned. His Snow White Owl was perched on his shoulder. The tips of his wings and Tancred’s spiky blonde hair were both sparking with electricity.
Nelly snorted and said hotily,” Why such a normal animal. Aren’t you unique enough?”
I understood what she meant and my blood boiled with rage.
“Maybe your afraid that my normal water will put out everyone of your amazing fireballs?” I shot back.
Nelly frowned at me. Then she turned on her toes and stomped out. Her cyotea followed close behind.
“Don’t mind, Nelly,” Tancred yawned,” She’s always snooty with new-camers. Believe me, I had to go through it.”
He jumped out of bed and went over to the large dresser that had five seperate draws in it. The top one had a lable that read; Henry.
“Who’s Henry?” I asked. I noticed that the next one said; Nelly. The other three read Tancred, Annabeth and Athena.
“Henry was- is- one of us. He was Speeker of sky,” Annabeth explained sadly.
“What happened to him?” I asked.
“We’ll tell you later,” Tancred called cheerfully,” Right now, you need to change.” He pointed to the bottom drawer. I walked over to the dresser and pulled my drawer open. Inside were new clothes all folded nice and neatly.
“Take your clothes to the bathroom and change there,” Annabeth told me. I looked at the clothes and chose a sea-green tanktop and dark blue skinny jeans.
I got up and the dog came up to me and wagged its tail. Dog. Why do I keep calling it dog?
“Come here, Hawk,” I called to the golden dog. He padded to the door next to me.
“Hawk? Is that his name?” Tancred asked and, together we walked to the bathrooms.
“Yes,” I said,” Do you like it?”
“Sure! It fits him.”
We reached the bathroom and split our seperate ways.
