The Forces of Magic Chapter 1 - December 22, 2011 by lolagon
This entry is part 1 of 3 in the series The Forces of Magic

This is a book I’m currently making. It’s  a long chapter story.

Chapter 1:  The Dream

“Sophia, sweetheart, it’s time for bed.” Her mother was saying.

“Yes, Mother.” Sophia dragged her feet across the stairs, walking into a room of marvel: if you needed cheering up, this was the place. Ivory paint concealed the natural colour of the walls, and lit up like fire at the flick of a switch.

The beds were luxurious. There was no need to be tired: the blankets were so comfy, warm and furry. Normally, Sophia slept as soon as her head hit the pillow. Today was dufferent. A cryptic worry traversed Sophia’s body. She hadn’t even known why she was worried.

She wasn’t alone in the house (neither an only child: her older brother Liam and her little sister Katie were her joyous company) so that wasn’t why she was scared. She only knew one thing: that something terrible was going to happen, too terrible for the likes of her.

She wished hard for this memory to fleet away in her dreams. It was an unevitable fact that it wouldn’t. She took a long time lying down. Eventually she went to sleep.

She wished she hadn’t slept, but everyone must sleep. It was a part of life. This part of life was eerie. Sophia was in a forest. It was cold, dark and seemingly endless. Faint tweets of the songbirds vanished in the forest. Repetitive shots then dominated the quiet sound of the forest. Sophia’s heart began to churn with blood.

At the worst moment, a dagger aimed at her. She sprinted, whilst the dagger hit the trees. Another one aimed at her. It seemed it would never fall down, Sophia thought, when all of a sudden, she woke up- with a start.

“Aah!” she screamed. The scream was high enough to wake everybody up Mother came inside the room. “What’s wrong, honey?” Mother was asking. Sophia could just make out the words, “I had a bad dream.”

“Well, you go to bed, and it’ll be all right. I promise.” It wasn’t all right. Sophia had another bad dream. She was in an ocean. Water rushed through her face whilst she was swimming. She was tired, yet her arms and legs were still functioning. She went on like this until at a sudden point in time, she drowned. Her body embed itself on the ground.

She woke up again, heart beating. With every thump that camem she thought, ‘No, I am not going back to sleep.’ Only, every time she thought of it, she wanted to sleep (like a doctor just jabbed her with a sleeping drug). Just as she was about to doze off, the alarm bell rang. It was seven in the morning: a new school day was about to arrive.

The Forces Of Magic: Chapter 2 Part 1 - December 24, 2011 by lolagon
This entry is part 2 of 3 in the series The Forces of Magic

Chapter 2 of my long story!
Note: This is where the romance bit steps on. I kill it off later.
How the loud, sweet song of the playground filled Sophia’s ears with ecstasy! She was enjoying a good chat with her friends, strolling across the playground. She was also waiting in anticipation to hear the sound of the school bell.
“This music is totally sick!” Lisa was always listening to music on her Iphone 4. This time, she had unplugged the earphones for everyone to listen to it. They danced in time to the joyous music. They were having such a good time that they never heard the repetitive, chiming bells set off.
Suddenly, the music stopped. An ugly face looked into Lisa’s eyes. It was Miss Duncan. She was wrinkly, aged and rotten. Her hair was so white, you’d think she was a hundred years old (even though she was only 36). A squeaky, croaky voice sang out of Miss Duncan’s dry, chapped mouth. “I’ll have that, thanks!”
“No fair! It was mine!” Lisa replied.
“Well, you should have thought about that before, Lisa. Don’t you know the school rules?”
“No wonder you’re still called Miss.” Lisa whispered. “No one would want to marry someone like you.” Everyone giggled, whilst Miss Duncan glared at them sternly.
“Off to your line!” she shouted. Everyone did what they were told and ambled over to their line. Sophia accidentaly bumped into a boy, He was holding sheets of paper and they fell down in a massive heap. He tried to pick them up.
When he picked the sheets up , he placed himself in an upright position, and glared at everyone in the class- but was especially looking at Sophia, as if he admired the look of the presumable enchantress standing before him. They had time to examine each other’s faces: Sophia with blue, shallow eyes , blond hair and light skin (rather pale). The boy was slim, with handsome hair, He looked with reflective hazel eyes, now capturing a girl at it.
Randomly, the boy leant over. Just as Sophia was about to be kissed, Mr Ronald stepped on front of the line.
“Sophia, leave your kissing until later!” Mr Ronald exclaimed. Sophia felt a horrible emotion-that of embarrasment. Everyone laughed hard, whilst they shouted words like, “Femme fetale!” and “who’s the lucky boy then?”
“Quiet!” Mr Ronald snapped. Traces of giggle continued on the way to the classroom. Sophia had ignored them up to tge oiubt when their laughing turned into shrieking, and at that time she realized the boy was holding her hand.

The Forces of Magic: Chapter 3 & Chapter 4 Starter. - December 25, 2011 by lolagon
This entry is part 3 of 3 in the series The Forces of Magic

Chapter 3 is very short, and bad in my case. I also have a starter of Chapter 4.
Chapter 3: Date with disaster

“I have to go, I simply have to!” Sophia pleaded with her mother but all she ever got in return was, “Not until you tell me why you want to date so quickly or until you tell me his name.”
Sophia thought of a name. “Micheal. His name is Micheal.” She paused for Liam had entered the room.
“Is this what I think I hear?” Liam said, laughing hard. “Sophia finally falling in love with-”
“Be quiet!” Mother shouted. Liam walked out of the room immediately, like she was the boss of the RAF. After that, Mother was saying, “Ok, you can go.” Sophia jumped around with glee, and rushed to the door.
It was a very busy restaurant. She could see ‘Mike’ sitting on a table, with some food next to him. He wasn’t hard to miss; follow the waving hand. Sophia walked over to him.
“Hi, Mike.”
“How do you know my name?” He was bewildered. Sophia had just embarrased herself.
She knew there was a Mike in school: a bully. Everyone feared, even begged for mercy at the mention of his name; mostly boys, because Mike would never tell a girl his name. Sophia got hold of it because a noy had told her.
“And I never wanted a bloody girl with me whilst I’m eating!” Mike shouted. Sophia crept out of the table and started to stride out of the restaurant> Mike saw her pushing the wooden door open and decided tp throw a plate at her.
She thought, ‘Why couldn’t I hit him with a plate instead?” A blue power shot out of her hand and directed towards the plate. The plate, in return, deflected and hit Mike on the head. Someone cried, “Magic powers!” and everyone fleed out of the restaurant frantically.
Chapter 4: Why me?

“You were supposed to catch the magic girl!” Mike’s dad was shouting. They were in a bleak area, surrounded by dusty cobwebs and a misty fog. Mike could see him- only just, for a really dim light covered the alleyway.
“I know, Mike replied. But why does it have to be… a girl?” His voice echoed in the distance.
“You will not question the authority of someone unless I give you permission to do so.” His voice turned devillish. Mike was apprehensive. This was funny considering he was the meanest bully in school.
